OK, having just finished Sly 3, (No, it's not that it took so long, it's that I just got it), I had a weird brain wave.
Sly, after saving Carmelita from the fireball got amnesia, right? Or at least faked it, (which is probably more realistic), and Carmelita decided to have her 'way' with him- Making him 'Constable Cooper'.
Now, I know that it's kinda unlikely, given the ending with his gear and cane marking the location of the loot, and the 'Wink' scene, but...
What if he really did lose his memory?
The point of the fic would be his work with Carmelita, their relationship, and him 'remembering' what happened. That would make for a very tumultous time.
Here you are, a cop, and all of a sudden, bam! You see your hands opening a safe-without key or combo- than back on the beat.
You're chasing a criminal, and you remember where the best place to run is, but not why you know that.
It's meant to be a kinda serious thing, which is kinda odd for Sly Cooper, but it's an idea I though was kinda unique.
