Countdown to the DeathStar

Well, I figured it was time to see where we all stand in terms of technological progress towards the ultimate weapon in the galaxy. ^_^

As for myself:

I've just started final research on Hyperspace drive 7. All I need is 299,600 more units of energy for grav tech....

Current conservative estimate for the amount of time it will take to build 10,000 solar satellites for that is 3 months.

Estimated time towards the first Death star Production: 3 months 22 days.

Do you have a Nanite factory?

I'm not sure, but the way it sounds it cuts down on production time for ships also.

If you have your shipyard high and the Nanite factory a couple levels (if it cuts time on ship building) it should cut the time required to build the Solar Sats thereby cutting the possibility of being fleet crashed.

The conservative deadline he gave himself may be a reference to the ridiculously high amount of Crystal and Deuterium he has to spend to build all those Solar Satellites. In the millions. That's a lot of Crystal and Deuterium to mine, if that's what he's basing the conservative estimate on.

For me, I'm still short a level in Hyperspace Drive. Not going to attempt acquiring Graviton Tech for a while yet. Fortifying like crazy for now to discourage higher-ranked people from spying on my homeplanet and my main colony.

Bingo.

That 5,000,000 deuterium is going to be a royal pain to get.

Not to mention the 20,000,000 crystal.

Hyperdrive 7 finished.

296,500 more energy to go....

In order to get that ammount, you need to find fleets and destroy them for resources, like what happened to several of mine, in addition to several annoying jerks 'mining' a few of the places I have stored things at, so I took a vacation for a bit, will return after they find someone else, (losing 72 battleships + fleet of assorted bites.)

Make sure you log in every now and then so the game doesn't boot you for inactivity.

Me, I flash-unvacationed, built a shit-ton of stuff and then went on vacation again, but some assclown was checking my main planet and first colony out again. Sucks to be him, though, all I had on site was a single light fighter and 1000 total units between all my minerals XD.

I contemplated doing the unvacationing and building stuff, but it says I cannot go back on vacation until the built materials get finished, and the fleets finish transporting, and by then I am away and when I come back, i find someone managed to catch the fleet at 'rest' even though I set them for the longest fleetsave transport times. >;p

Graviton tech?

Not a the nicest prospect to have in my view, it costs you a lot and having those satellites out there can give you a nasty surprise.

When you get 1000 of them... the enemy would get almost 800.000 crystals just from them and trust me, there are a loooot of dudes willing to do that. I'm not sure if going for a death star at this level is a wise choice. *You'll get a big target painted on you...*

If you have a lot of Plasma turrets, moon, good resource base, great support fleet and patience... it might be worth to take a risk.

Yeah, I'm going to try for a moon first in my preferred Position 4 colony before I start building Solar Satellites for Graviton tech. Otherwise, I'll have to try for it in my homeworld since it has a moon, but it's in Position 10.

But that's a long ways away yet. For now, I'm increasing the amount of Crystal Mines I have on several planets. I'm in no rush.

That's why I have more defenses then I do satellites. *Lots* more defenses.

At this point it would take a fleet so large that it would cost almost a million deut just to send them at me. And that doesn't even begin to count the cost in lost ships.

I have the defenses from Hell, and they're still expanding at 5x the rate that I'm building solar sats.

230,000 more energy to go.

Damn, what do you have for a defensive line? Mine's still only okay after all the stuff I have building now is done it will be,
RL-300
LL-1050
HL-120
GC-65
IC-230
PT-30
SS-1
LS-1

And that doesn't count the 100 ship defense fleet I keep around to counter Swarm Raiders.

How many antiballistic missiles you got? Because if someone's really set on waxing your satellites, depending on their weapon tech, they may well just shove a few hundred of them up yours and be done with it.

Enough to make it problematic to try and missile me without going through another million deut just to build the missiles to take out my antimissile defenses.

Even with a thousand sats online, I'm just not profitable to hit. By the time I hit 10,000 sats I expect to have a minimum of 100,000 defense units plus a capital ship defense fleet just under 1k strong.

At that point, I start cranking out Death Stars. ^_^

I have fifteen hours
Until all the satellites
I need are produced.

If I'm not noticed,
I should have Graviton tech
With just one mouse click.

And then, the Deathstar
Will fly the TFF flag.
Bwah haha hah ha!

I got impatient. I've been building up my colony's planetary defenses for so many months now. When I noticed I had enough Crystal and Deuterium in stock to construct the remaining 4000 Solar Satellites I needed to get 300,000 Energy, I used them up instead of building 1000 Solar Satellites and even more defenses. I hope I have enough to discourage raiders from trying to destroy my Sats.

Rocket Launcher (8.000 available)
Light Laser (69.500 available)
Gauss Cannon (1.000 available)
Ion Cannon (2.000 available)
Plasma Turret (1.390 available)
Small Shield Dome (1 available)
Large Shield Dome (1 available)
Anti-Ballistic Missiles (60 available, max. 0)
Interplanetary Missiles (10 available, max. 0)
My plan would have been to have 100,000 Light Lasers and 2000 Plasma Turrets in place before going for the 300,000 Energy. Oh, well. I hope this attempt goes off without a hitch.

It's mine. It's now mine!

Deathstar
The destructive power of the deathstar is unsurpassed.
Requirements: Metal: 5.000.000 Crystal: 4.000.000 Deuterium: 1.000.000
Construction Time: 17h 18m 27s
I have completed the construction of my Solar Satellites. The total output from all of my Solar Sats, my Fusion Reactors, and my Solar Plants equal to 300,029 Energy. I clicked on the now-researchable Graviton tech. Didn't even have to shut down any of my Mines. The Deathstar is now available to me!

I think I can now retire from the game. But after I build a Deathstar for each of my colonies and moons. Then I'll go on a loooooon vacation from Universe 14.

I don't play this game at all, so I don't know if it's possible, but if you're planning on quitting the game, you should go on a massive rampage before doing so. Just for kicks.

That and just to have a little more fun. Hit everyone in range with just one ship. I dont remember if you can delay attacks but if you can, set up waves. It'll keep them on thier toes.
