Supes isn't weak to magic, he just has normal defenses to it. He fares as well as any normal human against it... well, any normal human as resilient and tough as he is. Getting a fireball to the face isn't going to do much because burns that would kill a human will only inconvenience a Kryptonian.

Also keep in mind all magic users he faces are insanely high level. Don't expect Rincewind to do much. :snigger:

His weakness to magic is... iffy.

It mattered during Pre Crisis.

After that though... sure they say he is weak to magic but the guy still takes magical fire blasts and all that stuff. Basically his 'magical weakness' ends up being more of an 'informed ability' as opposed to anything that really matters in story.

As for the sun thing, I distantly remember a blue sun making him stronger. It has been a long time though. All Star Superman also had him interacting with a white dwarf with no trouble I believe.

Alright, new question. The spirit bomb is a technique that takes power from surrounding sources, be they plant, animal, or even people, King Kai even said that, under some conditions, it could even destroy the planet it was drawn from. If Goku is able to draw such energy, 1. Would it affect Superman (A planet buster has to have some effect, and since Gogeta has the multiform technique, I'll assume, possibly incorrectly, that Goku may have it too to hold Supes in place) and 2. Could Goku forcibly draw energy from Supes to the point of weakening him?

Supes is weak to magic in that he has no particular resistance to their effects. Something that creates lightning will hurt Supes about the same as normal lightning would. Better example. Take two swords, one enchanted to never grow dull and the other enchanted to cut through all flesh. Both are enchanted and magical right? Well the first one would do jack shit against Supes while the second one would actually cut him.

Yes the Spirit Bomb would take some of Supes' energy. No he couldn't forcibly draw it out or at least Goku would never do it in canon. When fighting Boo at the end of DBZ, Goku drew from the entire earth and had to have people volunteer their energy. When people volunteered willingly, they found that they lost enough energy that they felt drained and tired. Prior to that when the Spirit Bomb gathered ambient energy, they didn't even notice it.

So not really a magic weakness just not a magic immunity.

In the same way a human is not immune to punches (or in the same way Superman is not immune to punches provided it is strong enough); so a weakness in name only.

Ok then, let's say supes and goku both have the power that they can curbstomp each other forever and never get anywhere. supes has the resilance over goku (he can fly into the sun if it is the right color and breath in space) and as far as speed goes, they are either even or supes wins depending on opinion. Skillwise, goku wins because supes has no need to train and no safe training partner and goku lives for combat. So it comes down to tactics. If goku knows about kryptonite/has had time to prepare he can probably use/emulate it using a strange ki technique/technology to kill supes. Supes can't "win" tactically unless he outlasts goku, which he does easily. he can't outmuscle goku to send him into the sun thanks to instant transmission, same for a lot of other methods, goku has the skills to make supes look like a fool, and supes has a massive tactical weakness.

If goku doesn't know about kryptonite he loses, end of story(same as all supes enemies), if he does, he wins(maybe).

That is why i hate supes as a character, he is too powerful. Like galactus, he will be the last surviving thing from his universe when the next is born.

Supes routinely trains with Wonder Woman who is strong enough to go fight him. You know, the person who's spent her entire immortal life learning hand to hand combat?

What the fuck is this shit? Since when can Goku come up with ki techniques out of nowhere? All his stuff takes time to develop from teachers. That's how he learned all his stuff. Kamehameha from Roshi. Spirit Bomb and Kaiyoken from Kai, Instant Transmission from the aliens, and so and and so forth.

Supes is also known to train with Martian Manhunter who really doesn't fight in what anyone would call a conventional way and can in fact be as random as Goku. Then again, all Martians are a bit insane...

Oh, and he sparred at least a few times with Big Barda, who makes Wonder Woman look like a pile of shit in close combat.
