Harry Potter Dissapointing fics

In much the same way that we have a topic where you can share the horror of stories you've read that need to be destroyed, I've noticed a rather disturbing trend in HP stories where the author lures you into a story with great plot, good writing, excellent characterization, then shits all over their work in the last few thousand words, leaving you betrayed and dissapointed.

This is a topic for those stories.

I'll start us off with Unsung Hero, the undoubted king of this particular shitpile.

I don't think I really need to explain how MeghanReviews fucked it all up, as famous as Unsung Hero is for crashing and burning so horribly, but after many chapters of fairly good story, Harry gets forced to kill Hermione who is possessed by Voldemort because she wouldn't listen for two seconds and step away.

As a result, Harry's twin decides to somehow break the cardinal rule of Time Turners and double teams Harry to murder him in an elevator in the name of Hermione's love- ignoring the fact that Hermione hates Harry's twin because he effectively raped her after mindraping her, and then went creepy-stalker fuck after she broke free.

Just turns into an absolute shitstorm the last two chapters.

Explain, please? What do you find distasteful about his works?

Sounds like it was already a steaming turd long before the events that put you off.

I forget the exact details, but Harry had found Salazar's Slytherin's necklace and hid it in his room at Grimmauld Place until they could destroy it. The twin searched his room, found the necklace, assumed it was a gift for Hermione, put compulsion charms on it for her look favorably towards him, then sent it to Hermione himself to deprive Harry of a christmas gift and be able send one of his own, while she was on christmas vacation with her parents.

The locket, of course, caused massive damage to her psyche and corrupted the compulsion, plus it's own compulsions to wear it. Theoretically, the twin knew none of this, but something was clearly wrong when she came back and, out of the blue with no reasons whatsoever, hooked up with the twin that she hated, dumping harry in the worst way, and he just took advantage of the fact that she was basically a mindslave. And something was obviously up with hermione too, because the locket was taking a massive toll on her, but the twin was perfectly fine with her deteriorating condition, because he had Hermione to molest and Harry didn't.

It makes a lot of sense in context with the one sided rivalry the twin had with Harry, and was done fairly well. Make no mistake, the twin is not a good guy in the story- he would absolutely destroy harry's stuff to keep him from having nice things.

I don't remember if the twin ever actually found out what the necklace was, hence why he went creepy stalkerfuck after they managed to get it away from hermione and destroy it.

Every fic is essentially the same, super emo Harry stumbles into a harem who tells him how awesome he is and he needs to stop cutting himself.
