Dual Boxing is harder than it should be

What the title says. Bought two battle chests today and got started on Mal'ganis, referring myself for the 3x exp bonus. All I can say is, the exp is incredible, but the hassle of dual-boxing for the first time is incredible. I'm tearing my hair out here. :p

Officially condoned by Blizzard, actually.
Check here for details.

If they didn't want ya multiboxing, you really think they'd let you refer/invite yourself to start new accounts?

Nope, dualboxing is perfectly allowed.

One of the coolest pvp videos i've ever seen was one guy quad boxing ele shamans, with a resto druid keeping him alive.

Beause really, no healer can keep you alive through being hit by 4 lightning bolts.

WOW where have I been?

I've actually met the guy with the 5 Shamans too =)

I just followed him around AB as he hit people with 5 Lightning Bolts at the same time.

Got the hang of dual boxing with keyclone, MUCH less stressful than it was yesterday. Turning in quests is still annoying, tho.

That said, a second problem has presented itself: I have to train two character's skills with one character's money. And to be honest, it's been a long, long time since I leveled a character from scratch. I'd forgotten how hard it could be without bags and even a spare gold or two. :p

You should make a comedy duo routine, and hang out in the big cities and tell jokes between the two characters once a day for an hour, and ask for tips at the end of the hour. I'm sure you'd find it a successful business! =p

I can see how dual boxing makes it hard to have money. You can't really mine a node with two characters or skin the same monster or gather same flower, etc. So money making with gathering professions doesn't really work too well, since best you can do is have one character with mining/skinning and the other with just herbalism, but you can't really have them sharing professions. And since you're getting 3x exp, you don't grind as much as if you were playing solo, so less loot/money and less chance of getting greens/blues too.

Only thing I can think of to save money is to just skip/wait on skills, and keep using the lower rank for a while. Even if your skills are behind, you probably still level faster than if you played solo due to the 3x exp and having two characters fighting.

At least until it times to buy mounts. Then you're probably screwed. With the flying mounts, at least you can do the dailies, and the normal mount got cheaper and available at level 30, so that's probably not too bad. I can imagine the level 60 mounts will be a bitch though.

Well, unless the Zhevra mount is a level 60 mount that you get in the mailbox when your 'recruiter' toon gets to 60, or something. That would probably make things a lot easier with needing just one mount.

Kinda a bit curious how the Zhevra mount works, actually.

You get the zhevra when the referred account (the "friend) pays for two months of WoW time (beside the free time that comes with your retail purchase). Then the recruiter can enter a code that's redeemable for the mount, which comes to a character of your choosing in the mail. If you pay for the two months normally, you have to wait until the free month is over to get the mount, but if you use the prepaid 60 day card, you can get one immediately.

I'm leveling rogue/pally at the moment, and the added cost on pally skills is really hurting me. For the moment I'm skipping on all non-essential skills, including everything but healing/support for the pally. Meh.

edit: The 3x on quests is really quite astronomical, tho.

*considers buying a second account and xfering or simply remaking Elynsynos for the super xp and mount*

People started making fake RAF trial accnts so they changed some of it.

now they changed it so you only get 3x XP if both char are within 3 lvls of each other, and the mount come at Lvl 40.
