Evangelion EU girls or spin-off girls?

Just though I wanted to start a weird thread.

I kind of started pondering about which NGE girl from the EU and spin-off universes would be the best girlfriend for mainstream Shinji.

Mana Kirishima from the game Girlfriend of Steel 1 would probably be a nice girl.

Mayumi Yamagishi from the game 2nd Impression has been stated to be a female version of Shinji

Asuka from the Girlfriend of Steel 2 spin-off seems a lot more stable and level-headed than mainstream Asuka, even though she's still Asuka

Rei from the Girlfriend of Steel 2 game also seems like a nice girl and doesn't seem to be as aloof as mainstream Rei.

There are probably a few more girls, but unfortunately I haven't read up info on them.

So who do you think suits the mainstream universe Shinji best?

The average fanfic version of Hikari (at least, when considering fanfics where she's actually a character, as opposed to a cameo or a prop) would probably be wonderful for Shinji.

Of course, this flows from the fact that in the canon, Hikari was the only girl Shinji's age I remember who 1) actually had any camera time and 2) was not carrying a truckload of mental malfunction.

Mental malfunctions that we knew about. She may just have been hiding how nuts she was. Of course, being mentally out there, and being a good mate, are not mutually exclusive: the Hikari from Rx7's 'Home/Bodies' is pretty eccentric, but she isn't harmful to Shinji.

True, which is why I specified the usual fanfic version of Hikari, the one who actually is that nice. Mentally sprained Hikari occurs in fanfic, but less often.

And yes, the one in Home/Bodies is... well, Home/Bodies is saved to my hard drive for many excellent reasons, but any member of the cast qualifying as picture of mental health? Not one of those reasons. :p

Funny thing, I actually forgot about this old thread until recently.

I think that Hikari Horaki would make a decent mainstream universe alternative girlfriend considering that she appears more stable than mainstream Asuka and has probably handled both boys and girls in class with problems since she's a class rep and can interact with people better than Rei.

But I thought this was about the EU-girls or spin-off versions of Asuka and Rei and who you thought would fit the best as a girlfriend to mainstream Shinji?

Ah, my bad.

Edit: Also, appears more stable than mainstream Asuka? Anti-matter is more stable than mainstream Asuka. :p

It's not a big deal. We all make mistakes now and then. And besides spin-off universe Hikari Horaki could also count as an available candiadte even though she seems similar to her mainstream counterpart.

Anti-matter, in general, is pretty stable, as long as you keep it away from normal matter.

Rephrase: unshielded anti-matter is more stable than Asuka. Californium-253 isotopes are more stable than Asuka. You have to start getting into the Joker's territory before you get less stable than Asuka. :)

Makes me wonder if Harley Quinn is more stable than mainstream Asuka, even though she started out as a psychologist in Arkham Asylum before joining the Joker.

In the comics, Harley actually split from 'Mistah J' after he finally crossed the Domestic Abuse Event Horizon and went off to become a sort of wacky antihero in 'Countdown 52' or whatever it was called. I believe that currently, her and Poison Ivy have formed a team-up with Catwoman, doing stuff in Gotham around Catwoman's usual relatively benign yet felonious ethical level.
