Though I have yet(thankfully) to see it, you know some twisted soul wil eventually come up with a Harry/Vernon story at some point. Who so ever does will be tarred with the same brush as Oscar in my mind, even if it isn't explicit. But if it becomes yaoi, I only have one bit of advice for that author. Una sallas victus nullam sperare salutem(sp?). The one hope of the doomed is not to hope for safety.

I will cut you down, pull your entrails through your eye sockets and use them as reins to ride your damned soul to Hades below!![/B

Must...stop...watching...G4...it's...corrupting...my inocent...mind.

I... honestly don't see the problem with Lily/Salazar. Granted, Salazar is kinda... uh, dead in mainstream time, but then again, so is Lily. Salazar... well, he ISN'T a character within Harry Potter. What I mean by that is that his personality isn't explored. He is pretty much a blank slate that the author can do whatever s/he wants with, an OC with a face from the books. It's no worse then having an original character get paired with someone.

Harry/Vernon... that I have a problem with. Urgle! Talk about tasteless. At least with Draco or Snape you have the excuse of... well, actually, I really can't think of ANY reason why Harry/Snape or Harry/Draco works, but Harry/Vernon is... definitely worse.

It's not a pairing that'll jumpstart my engine, that's for sure. But the squick-factor isn't all that high, certainly not enough to warrant an 'ew'.

Not like, say, the Harry/Hedwig fics out there, or the NC Harry/Dudley ones.

Or the Harry/Voldemort pairing, how people think they can pair up Harry and a fifty something Dark Lord who doesn't even seem to be human (physically or otherwise) anymore is beyond me.

Harry/Voldie could conceivably work. In an NC kinda way, that is...

But yeah, with the situation as it is and no mind-control, heavy drugs or more physical means of rape involved, no.

Same here. Granted, I'm not sure of the pairings here since, as I have said before, I haven't really read the books yet, but still, the pairings people come up with in general are scary.

There's an Argus Filch/Albus Dumbledore fic at RestrictedSection.org. I didn't dare read it.

Ok, first off... ewwwwwwwwwwwwww for the latter. I don't care if it's NC or not. Just... bleargh. :headbanger: :headbanger: :headbanger:

As for the former, I got no real problem with Harry/Hedwig... so long as Hedwig turns into a human first. Though... I think the idea of Harry getting turned into an owl and being hunted down by Hedwig would be amusing to no end.

But Harry/Human!Hedwig is really no different than Belgarath/Poledra.

For those who don't know who that is... Belgarath was a sorcerer in David Eddings' The Belgariad and The Mallorean. Poledra was his wife, who was born a wolf and learned how to transform into a human.

Just my two bits.

You know, I don't really know what it comes from, but that image I've seen a couple times on this board with the guy saing "A cat is fine" gave me a bad image of Harry saying "An owl is fine" and getting ready as Hedwig looks on in horror.

Well...

The boy does spend almost the entirety of his time outside of school locked up in a dinky room with just Hedwig and his school stuff. Rampaging Hormones and all that good stuff. Just make sure he watches out for the beak and them razor sharp talons. :sisi:

You have no idea how glad I am right now that I have zero drawing talent. Because If I did I would be soooooo tempted to draw that just fuck with people's minds.

Mostly the Hary/Vernon or Harry/Dudley fics are regulated to the ones in which the Abuse factor of Harry's life is further explored. I've seen both pairings as abusive/rape relationships where Harry is the victim. I've read Harry/Petunia as abusive/rape both ways so that one or the other is the victim.
Recently I saw a Harry(owl)/Hedwig(owl) relationship with eggs and graphic Owl lemony goodness.

Girl type Harry Potter is a rare occurance, but there are a few good
Harry/(girl)Harry fics out there.
