So, I got it in my head to cross-over oWoD and Exalted. Here are my general rules for the fanfic, so that the two cosmologies make sense and has the characters actually doing something, being at the centre of world-shaking events like they should be in Exalted. I want to preserve the general 'Exalted' ambience.
1. The Exalted are Immune to Paradox
This is a basic rule, because it allows the Exalted to do cool, physics-defying things without having Paradox busting them.
2. There are lots of impostors
This is how I reconcile the cosmologies. oWoD Malfeas isn't Exalted Malfeas, the Deathlords and Neverborn are just impostors of the real deal, etc. Autocthonia may be Autocthon, however. It depends on my planning.
Any things I'm missing, things I should be wary of?
And here's a sample:
The world is a cesspool of despair.
But once, it was not like that.
It had heroes and champions.
They called themselves...
THE EXALTED
Malfeas
In the Demon City, nothing sleeps. The demons themselves ply their trade, work and mingle with the Akuma that have lessened greatly in recent years. They live, work, and die under the watchful gaze of Ligier, the Green Sun of Malfeas. There is Oramus, and the Ebon Dragon, She Who Lives In Her Name and the lightless waters of acidic bile that make up Kimbery. Isidoros tramples through Szoreny, while Adorjan blows and Sacherevell slumbers still, dreaming strange dreams of prophecy.
Cecylene forms the barrier, but none have left, as the rites of summoning have been forgotten by all except the Infernals. And so, to pass the time, they speak of what little knowledge they can glean from the now-isolationist Heavenly city of Yu-Shan.
They do not speak with words, they speak with thoughts, the will of the Demon City, Malfeas himself, dominant above all.
Any word from Yu-Shan? She Who Lives In Her Name thinks.
With the tear in that accursed Gauntlet, the God-Blooded are regaining their powers. It is most amusing. The Ebon Dragon responds.
And what of the Solars, the Celestials? She Who Lives In Her Name thinks.
They will return. It comes from no-one in particular, just a feeling of fear.
The thought moves throughout Malfeas, as the Demon-King screams in rage at the very thought. Towers shatter, buildings crash as layer after layer of Malfeas is torn apart and falls into Kimbery to be digested and devoured, along with all the unfortunates within.
He will not suffer this. He moves, to call forth the Infernal Exaltations. They will go to this new world, and take it over, by force. He will not have the Solars take it...
