Fairy Godfathers

Just a thought I've had recently.  There are plenty of Fairy Godmothers, but rarely, if ever, Fairy Godfathers or their equivalent.
es, I'd like to hear them.

So, what would a Fairy Godfather be like?  Some sort of supernatural father figure, what qualities would they espouse, what would their raise their godchildren to be?

I've thought of two options so far, if you have any alternatives, I would enjoy seeing your interpretations.

Option One: Demonic Godfather.

People associate Fairy Godmothers with goodness, so why not go the opposite route and have some demonic influence.  They still have their ward's best interest at heart, but aren't so hung up on morality and fairness in regards to it.  They're perfectly OK with killing off the evil stepsisters, or ruining their day if Cinderella protests about killing too much.

Interactions with the Godmother could be interesting as well, ranging from tolerance because it gets results, to outright opposition if he's a bit too evil about it.

Second idea: "Fairy" Godfather

I know it's crass, but a flamboyantly gay Godfather with magical powers could be hilarious.  Probably not good for much beyond a joke or two, but could still be hilarious.  Of course, any magical dresses would just be FA-BULOUS!!!  Hell, that might be his only motivation, depending on how you want to play it.

So, what do you think a Fairy godfather would be like?

My thought: Santa Claus or contemporaries, like the Easter Bunny or the Sandman, are Fairy Godfathers.

They may not be as noticeable or constant with their gifts or guidance as they're more hands off, but they're there when needed. Or at least, they come by to try and brighten up one's day at least once a year.

I'd be a bit leery about kissing a 'Fairy Godfathers ring' :snigger:
