Pity they won't be following my long-time dream and making it the kind of RPG that System Shock 2 was. Eh ... but then, if I wanted to have post-apocalyptic fun in FPP, I'd go and get STALKER (which I'm going to do anyway, eventually).
Pity they said it won't be as 'crude' as Fallout 2, or at least mentioned that. Damnit, visiting brothels and seducing the wife of a crime-boss in order to get into his private rooms and clean out his safe is an integral part of the game experience!
I'm also kind-of hoping they change the combat and skill system somewhat - don't get me wrong, I liked it in Fallout 1 and 2, but I find it annoying that once you get to a certain spot you pretty much have to invest in heavy weapons or energy weapons skills of some sort. That annoyed me to no end, since I went through most of F2 with a sneaking specialist who focused on small arms (well, if you consider a Pancor Jackhammer small arms) and hand to hand crit-seeking (gotta love poking the eyes off a supermutant and following up with a kick to the balls). The Powered Armor design was cool and all, but I didn't like _using_ the thing too much. Eh. Let's just say I got my share of playing sniper in F1 (finishing the final boss without even going into the room, with crits from a sniper rifle, was just plain cheap. But _oh_ so _satisfying_, no?).
So, what do you think about perspective? Will it be isometric, with pan and zoom, sort of like NWN? Fixed? Or an FPP/TPP mix of some sort? A fully (or almost) explorable environment would be nice - rooftops and all that in addition to ground and the inside of buildings.
