I was watching Rebuild and realized something: with a few exceptions, the Angels all seem to go to wherever Shinji is, rather than after Adam or Lilith.

I propose the possibility that Shinji may be one of their targets, if not their primary target. Hell, even Kaworu went after Shinji...if you count trying to get into his pants.

In the TV series at least not all did... The 11th and 15th come to mind.

Of course, you could be looking at it wrong, after all, in almost all but those 2 and the 6th, Gendo sent Shinji out first. The 6th Shinji was in Asuka's plug with her, thus should not count.

I know it's been debunked by Anno, but I still hold to the belief that, at the end of EOE, Shinji met an amalgam of Asuka, Misato and Rei.
