Since challenges does not seem to fare well, let me reintroduce the idea here in Ideas thread.
This is something that had been going around in my head for quite some time now, but I never quite managed to get around to writing it, and I doubt I will. Still it seems a waste of an opportunity, so maybe someone else would be willing to give it a try? Or maybe I'll end up writing it if I can find a clear enough picture.
The base idea is simple. There have a been a lot of crossovers where Shirou, or more rarely other Masters, instead of their cannon servant, end up with a character from a different series. Point here - why stop there? If changing one servant with a crossover character brings so much fun, why not change them all.
As a result of freak accident of some sort, or maybe as a result of Grail degeneration, or for one of the thousand other reasons Servants, instead of the legends of this world, end up being summoned from greatest heros (or villans, lets not forget villans) of other realities. In the name of chaos let the new incarnation of Grain War commence!
Alternatively one could redesign nasuverse history, so that all grail wars worked that way. That would mean no Gilgamesh, and a few more brainstorming sessions about how the fourth war worked. On the other hand no Gilgamesh means one could have a suitably powerfull enemy of his own choosing.
Well, the problem I had with the story was choosing the appropriate servants, and if you have no servants you can't design a story to fit them. In the end thats what stopped me from actually giving it a try.
As far as I could come up with, there are two major ways for this attempt to go.
Not much worrying about the plot here. The entire point of the story is to have fun with the setting, and maximize comedy setting. And maybe if the outcomes goes for a long enough time, some sort of more serious story will emerge of itself as it sometimes happens. A great silly riot, probably a great fun to write it.
In other words, not my kind of thing. Now the setting I was contemplating was:
Blood, gore, fights to death, and tragedy, as servants are probably less inclined to cooperate with their masters, or outright use them to their own end. This cannot go with a plot. Random gore is not nearly as good to read as a random comedy, and thus it needs a point to it.
One that did come to mind was to turn into a battle to save the multiverse. But for that to be possible, at least one of the servants would need to be a scientific type, and those usually don't use weapons. Better yet would be someone with arcane knowlegde, sufficient power, and maybe anti-hero tendencies. My mind pulls out a blank. Thus the problem.
Any thoughts?

A comedy/crack setting:
For example:
Naruto as Berserker (with his normal personality)
Negi Springfield as Caster
Erza (or Ichigo?) as Saber
For rarder one of Mei Hime characters?

Dark, serious setting:
example:
Guts(Berserk) as Berserker
For caster I was thinking a darker version of Nagi Springfield or Xellos from Slayers
Hei (Darker than Black) as Assasin (though he seems somewhat underpowered), Basilisk was another series I was looking at
Orochimaru as Raider
For Saber I considered one of bleach characters or Izumi (Gantz)
