Here you go for Fate Zero goodness!!

The project is slowly underway with the opening prologues being translated. It will take a while for this to come out all the way but it should be a good read in the end. I for one will definitely keep an eye on this.

Interesting, but I'm a bit ambivalent, I wish they'd finish one before starting on another.

...?

What are you talking about? Note how the translation isn't on the sidebar? The Fate/Zero translation is a hosted project, it's not being translated by Baka-Tsuki, it's being translated by the Beast's Lair's people (Mainly seems to be Baiken/Byakko). So, that's exactly what they're doing, considering this is their first large-scale translation they've got underway.

And yes, this is awesome. Especially since Byakko is doing DAILY progress. Every day at lunch he's apparently doing one page. While it's going to take at least a year (if not certainly more) at this pace, it's still very, very impressive.

:sisi:

We need more translations for stuff like this. There are a lot of novels with very interesting themes that never get released outside of Japan. We only get to see a bit of them via anime/manga.

*Senkai no Senki, Legends of the Galactic Heroes, even Slayers and so on.

I'm just going to bump this since they're done the Prologue, and Part 1 of the 1st Act.

Good so far.

Well....a milestone of sorts has been achieved in the translation.

They finally finished the translation on the long stalled volume 2. Fate/Zero is now officially halfway complete!

Reading the newest chapters again reminded me of a conversation that occured in one of the chinese speaking boards I frequented, where someone was asked to describe Fate/Zero in one sentence. The sentence he gave was:

"The story where everyone bulies Saber".

Looking back on it now....I can't help but be reminded of how well put that was. Especially with the other events to come in the last 2 volumes

Necro'd because as of 4/5/11, the english translation of Fate/Zero is complete!

There is a side story that is still being translated, but the main story has been translated.

Gonna save that F/Z reading for Sunday when I'll be able to relax from studying.

In the meantime, <a href='http://www.mangafox.com/manga/fate_zero/v01/c001/1.html' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>you can catch the manga scanlations here</a>.

If that's what you call a 'english translation .. is complete', I don't want to see what you call garbage.

That is horrifically bad english.

I didn't think so?

It reads funny, but I dunno how much of that is the translation and how much of that is Nasu.

Well in that case I guess it would be "...how much of that is Gen."

Oh, I checked, I guess he's getting credited as the "author" of the manga, too. I wonder if that means the manga is going to follow the novels real close?

Speaking of translators, the manga is terrible. Seriously, "Altria"?

Well, Nasu is to blame for that particular piece of Engrish, not the translators. That's how he wrote her name in the last CM book (although, he also had Waver Velvet down as "Load El Melloi", so...).

Ignoring the whole King Arthur connotation, I'd say Altria sounds like a better name than Arturia.

Do all Lancer class servants look alike?
No, just those two, because they're both Irish heroes. For instance, there's a Lancer in Fate/Extra that's Vlad Dracula, and he looks totally different.

Also, first time we've seen Sakura and the worms animated at 1:05. Hopefully we'll see a Heaven's Feel anime at some point in the future now that they've finally introduced her tragic backstory to those who only watch the anime.

So I wasn't the only one who noticed Sakura's worm rape there. I can already hear Mike's howls of future rage.

Yeah. Another thing to note is that she still had black hair and blue eyes, at least during that scene; I guess the worm rape must not have reached the color-changing threshold yet.
