Early this year on one of my multi day without sleep net trawls, I think I stumbled on to what I then thought was the beginnings of a brilliant story, Which I upon sleeping and letting my family have the computer back I promptly lost.

Fusion of NGE. Code Geass, Eureka SEVEN

It started with Shinji Ikari living in Bell forest.
Renton Thurston was Shinji classmate.
It seems Gendo sent Shinji out of country when the Britainians attack Japan.
A few years pass and Gendo sends a letter(come) to Shinji from Nerv now inside Area 11.

Shinji hops a plane ends up flying with a Britainian princess and her security detail.

Shinji then gets to be Lulu's roommate at Ashford

After this I can't seem to remediable anything else so I assume the story hadn't gotten past that point.

Anyone know this one?

This is a long shot but does anyone remember a story from a while back.Where Asuka and Rei where already at Tokyo-3 .Shinji came down from space already in unit-1 after fighting in space .He'd already been fighting the angel's for a while. I think it was by one of the authors with horsemen as there name

Hmm, I believe it might be a little known Guyver/NGE crossover called <a href='http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2328585/1/bOut_b_of_bControl_b' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>Out of Control</a>. There was an omake scene where Shinji (who became a Guyver two years prior to series start) and Penpen were fighting against the old leftovers of Misato's cooking. Shinji ended up having to turn into the Guyver to deal with it, and it did end with him saying "Groovy" while slicing up the food.

Only one to come to mind is 'Vengeance' by Devil Boss, but that is not quite what I had in mind, and not really at the start anymore at that point anyway. Besides, to do it he agreed to work for Seele... I was quite disappointed by that aspect, even if I do hope the story updates.


Also why the heck is Misato in most fanfics made out so innocent for the events of Shinji being brought to the hanger and then made to pilot? That has always annoyed me. She had to be in on it and just did not want to tell him... she knew he was third child'ren' after all, even gave him the worthless packet to read. Even in the other continuities I do not consider her all that innocent.

I did kill him off in two fics, but I don't think that's what you meant.

No, I knew of those, but not what I meant.

There are actually a couple different ones where he kills Gendo, and at least one where he has been specifically forbidden from killing Gendo (not for lack of willingness to do so though).

But all the ones I'm aware of are form further in series. Like a act of desperation or even have someone else as Shinji, like Ranma.

I believe he once was almost killed by Kalia as well... nice El Hazard cross, pity it was never continued, I quite liked it.


There was a comedy one where Misato ran him over by accident while drunk then decided not to tell anyone.

Wasn't there one by Player 0 that did that.


And I agree with Raa on 'Practice'... I liked the first half of that... but between the OC being able to pilot, and the crap delt to Asuka... made the later chapters a grind to try to read through.

Be aware, there are two different versions of the story, one with lemon, one without.
