Ranma ½ Final Fantasy IV 1/2 help needed

I'm a little stuck at the moment. Ranma's curse is about to be revealed and I'd like to have your opinion on how he'll react.

First I'll post the premise and next the different possible reactions I could think of. Keep in mind that Ranma hasn't told them about the curse. In canon he never does voluntarily.

Ranma lands in the underground river through a stupid accident (like so often) and jumps out of it. To the astonishment of Rydia and Tellah an unknown girl has replaced the martial artist.

Before they could attack Kasumi jumps in front of Ranma and tells them that they are about to attack Ranma.

Now here's where' I'm not sure about Ranma's reaction. In the anime (I can't remember how it was in the manga) he doesn't always react in the same way (he reacted differently when the Tendos and Ryoga found out). Here are the possibiltities I've come up with:

- embarrassment :

"Hehe! I'm Ranma. Sorry about this." He scratches the back of his head in embarrassment. "You know, there's a perfectly logical explanation for this..."

- shame and self-pity:

"I... didn't want you to find out. You can't imagine how difficult it is to live with a curse like this. All the pitying or hateful looks; being treated like a freakshow. I wanted to avoid that this time. Well, I shouldn't have got my hopes up. This always happens... "

- indifference:

"Yeah, well, it's a curse. Cold water = girl, warm water =
boy. Nothing I can do about it. I've had the curse for more than a year now. No known cure.Heh, I had hoped I could hide this. Ah, well,...

- anger leading to annoyance:

"Dammit! I should have known. Damn curse never gives me a break and always activates at the wrong time."

Then he saw the strange looks Tellah and Rydia were giving him.

"WHAT?" He snarled at them before claming down. "Yeah, it's me, Ranma. It's a curse. Not like I can do anything about it..."

So, what do you think is the most likely reaction? Maybe some of you have your own idea as to how he'd react.

Embarassment. Easy. Anger would be my second option. The shame and self pity thing doesn't really fit with Ranma's character. And then there's indifference which doesn't really work unless everyone else's reaction is over the top.

So, maybe anger first, followed by embarrassment once he remembers he has an audience?

You seriously have a story with the title "Final Fantasy IV ?" ??

That's possibly the most retarded thing I've ever seen spout from your keyboard.

Yeah, he does has a fanfic with that title. Dumbledork posted it up about...two years ago at the very least I think.

The main thing I can remember is that is Kasumi going to planned be some kick ass fighter and...yeah, I pretty much stopped from the why, how's and stuff of the fanfic.

Come now, my good chap. Aren't you also quite fond of picking 'Something Something Onehalf' for your story titles?

Though I do have to admit that Final Fantasy Four-and-a-half is a bit different.

On topic:

How about this:

"Brrrrr. Cold!"

"Ra- Ranma?"

"Yes?"

"Y- You're a girl!"

"What?! You want me to punch your face in? I am NOT a girl!"

"Of course you are! Look at you, you have a pair of giant tits!"

"Oh, this? Hahahaha! That's just some lame-ass curse I picked up. I haven't gotten around to getting rid of it yet. But as soon as I find a cleric I'll get rid of it."

"Ah. Okay, then. ..... Say, would you mind me, you know..."

"YES!"

"Just checking..."

Just once I'd like to see a story where they go, "A curse? Hah, getting rid of that is child's play! Any magic user could do it!" instead of it always being impossible due to various reasons that make no sense whatsoever.

Though, considering that you're the one writing this, Dumbledork, I doubt he'll ever get rid of the curse.

Unless getting rid of it means having it locked and having Ranma realise that life as a girl is so much better, since having a cock only brings you misery and pain.

At least, that's how you roll, as far as I can remember.

Sorry to disappoint you but the curse won't play a major role in this fic at all. At one point Ranma will use it for a short while as a disguise for infiltration and information gathering, but other than that it won't have an incidence on the story.

On the other hand I see no reason why I should get rid of it.

As for your snippet it's funny but doesn't really fit here.

EDIT:

So far I haven't written a single story where the curse is locked.

If the curse doesn't play a huge part and is no more than an inconvenience to Ranma, why not treat as such?

And having one of the side-characters making inappropriate remarks about it is always a cheap way of adding some humour. Believe me, I'm quite well-versed in cheap humour. :p

I understand what you mean, but it's not easy since Ranma has to react to the reactions he gets from the people. Magic might be common in Final Fantasy but so far I haven't seen a sex change spell. With Tellah and Rydia ready to attack Ranma has to find a way to diffuse the situation (with the help of Kasumi).

He stops them by pulling open his shirt and blinding them with the sight of his tits. They're too embarrassed to attack him. :p

I have three stories, out of a couple of dozen that could be considered to use some variation of the "?" suffix. That is hardly displaying a fondness when you consider the fact that none of which are currently being worked upon
