I just picked up the first DVD of FSN tonight and watched it. Pretty damn good it is, and I can see the potential for awesome in the introspective conflicts that Shirou is going to have to face. I haven't even met all the characters yet though, so I can't really judge just yet.

On a side note, if Shirou does it again in ep 6 I will henceforth refer to him as "Kenny."


There's only one problem. The bestbuy I got it at doesn't have the second DVD. They seem to have all the others, but the second is missing in action. Anybody point me to a torrent that's still active or a direct download? I just need eps 5-8, then I'll start buying them again, and I'll pick up that one first time I see it.

The torrent that I used had nearly 300 people SEEDING. I doubt that you will have any problems getting the entire series or just the second DVD.

A note for the DVDs: if you want the series, buy them now. Due to Geneon no longing distributing DVDs, they're now out of print.


Thanks to that I had trouble finding the fifth volume of F/SN... 'though I was lucky in that Best Buy had it. ^^;;




As for a download... Hm. Not sure which torrent Locke is talking about, but you could try either of these:

Can't check how many seeds they have right at this moment, but they're usually not zero (DaTorrent's stats have been busted for a while).

I had a few direct download sites with F/SN on them, but unfortunately, time has passed, and so has their place at them.

Just check on isoHunt. It's a torrent search engine that indexes pretty much all the trackers you'll need, including DATorrents. If you can't find it there, it's a rare find, indeed.

As an aside, I hope you're not watching it with the dub audio track by the time of the Archer vs Berserker fight. :no:

'[KYRM] Fate Stay Night Dual Audio' which I got from isohunt. ...Odd, I just activated my bittorrent client and its says that there are 16 seeds not including myself at the moment.

And no offense F1, but I'm not going to spend $200 on the 3 or 4 DVDs that I'm missing. The only anime store around here jacked up their prices on Geneon products (aka most of their stock).

eBay has them. Depending on format you desire to watch them in, it is not that bad of pricing either.

I never watch dubs. For a while, I tried to objectively select which was better. Then I watched the first ep of LH dubbed and my ears started bleeding, so I don't do that anymore.

And thanks. I'll start running the Eclipse torrent once I get home.

I finished watching it. It did not quite live up to the hype, but I have a feeling that with the answering of certain questions and acquisition of related manga/novels etc. might bring it up to bear. It's still an excellent series, no doubt.


But first, questions.

1. Who the FUCK is Archer!? Is this ever revealed anywhere? Was he just some nameless hero, a famous bladesmith, or what?

2. Same question, but Rider. Who is she? My first guess is Queen Maab, from Arthurian legends, usually related to/opposed to Merlin, if I remember right.

3. Show of hands, who else cheered when Shinji bit the bullet? I, for one, gave Ilya a standing ovation.

4. Links to the rest. Where are they? Manga, novels, games, any of it.

Spoilers, obviously, but...




1. Archer=Shirou from the Future. It was only very vaguely implied with the pendant, but it was never mentioned in the Fate route anyway.

2. Rider is Medusa.

3. Eh. I didn't care that much.

4. Lesse... Look here for stuff regarding Type-Moon stuff. The manga has been licenesed, so it should actually get an official release some time... there've only been two volumes of it translated so far anyway. I can't find them at the moment, but I'll post a link in a bit. The visual novel you can find any pretty much any place with torrents, or try rapidsearch.

Then don't.

I was simply saying, if you EVER want to get them, do so now. The prices are going to get jacked up even worse, and then you'll only be able to get the ones people sell on ebay and the like for ten times the retail price or more.

Medusa was my second guess, with the mask and the greek creature.

And that's one I didn't see. I just thought they had the same skill, not that they were the same damn person... this is beginning to look twisted and complex. I'll definitely have to keep an eye out for the manga and go dig up that other stuff.
