-----------------

Ranma watched the kunoichi saunter off the platform and down the path and around a thicket of luch greenery before turning back to the girls. ôAlright, first I gotta get to know you. I guess weÆll start with you, No-chan.ö

ôNo..chan?ö The blonde blinked. Her new instructor was clearly focused on her, butà ôWhat do you want to know?ö

Ranma paused for a second, clearly not having through the question through. ôStuff, I guess. What do you like, dislike, that sort of thing.ö

ôOh.ö Ino nodded. It was a simple request. ôI love to practice my ikebana, I dislike that pink haired witch pawing MY Sasuke and am heir to the Yamanaka bloodline.ö

ôI ainÆt no ikeban master, but we can probably trade notes.ö Ranma returned as memories of man eating plants danced through her head. After TomaÆs island, nobody laughed at her skills in that arena. That, and there was only one pink haired witch she know of around Konohaà ôAnd whatÆs your family bloodline do?ö

ôIt specializes in mind-body manipulation.ö She answered in a haughty tone.

ôHmm. Sounds useful.ö The redhead filed the fact away for later consumption. ôHow about you, Ten?ö

ôTenten.ö She correct with slight annoyance which passed quickly as she complied with the request. ôI like to paint, dislike spiders and am really, really good with ranged wepondry.ö

ôHow good?ö

ôI currently hold the kunai trial academy record.ö The odangoÆd girl smiled confidently. ôOne hundred out of one hundred.ö

ôDonÆt worry, weÆll improve that some.ö Ranma smiled benevolently and TentenÆs satisfaction turned into a frown. What, perfect wasnÆt good enough for this girl?!

ôYour turn, æNata.ö Ranma stated, bypassing TentenÆs frustration completely.

ôIà umàö Hinata twitled her fingers nervously and her eyes drifted to the ground. ôI, like somebody, um, dislike hurting people and practice my family art, the Juken.ö

ôJukenàö The word rolled off RanmaÆs tongue. ôPressure points, force redirection and all that?ö A silent nod from the girl prompted Ranma to continue. ôAnd the Byakugan like your old man?ö

HinataÆs posture stiffened slightly at the off handed mention. ôY-Yes.ö

ôInteresting.ö The redhead commented, taking the three in as a whole.

The No-girl seemed passably profiecient in the art by her posture, but not overly so. In fact, it was quite obvious that by her refined look and manner that there was probably a princess complex in there that would need broken down before any real training could begin. Blue eyes passed from Ino to Tenten and Ranma suppressed a chuckle. Looks like a little amazon. Confident in her ability but probably at about the same mediocre level as No-girl when it came to hand to hand.

It was already clear that Hinata was going to be the biggest challenge of the group. No-girl sheÆd have to be careful with in breaking down the princess complex without shattering her, but it was doable. Ten would probably be the easiest to train out of the bunch, but Hinataà The girl had issues, self confidence being the prime among those. her stance and posture told her there was definitely skill beneath the exterior, but little in the way of assertiveness of confidence.

Gonna be a bitch to overcome and I ainÆt no psychologist, Ranma through to herself, sizing the girl up. Halfta ask Kurenai-sensei about her later.

ôAlright, a little about me then.ö Ranma broke from her observations, holding the trio with blue eyes. ôYour first question is probably how can this cute little redhead your age be teaching you how to be kunoichi?ö All three girls nodded and Ranma smiled mischievously. ôBecause this cute little redhead is the heir to the Musabetsu Kakut? Ry? and master of over twenty styles of taijutsu, in addition to a dozen or so of the more obscure arts.ö The watching girls faced formed into expressions of disbelief. ôAside from that, I love martial arts, okanomiyaki and hate pigs.ö

The blonde raised her hand. ôWhatÆs up, No-chan?ö

ôIno.ö The girlÆs face scrunched, but moved on to her question. ôYouÆre a boy and a girl?ö

Saw that one coming a mile away, Ranma snorted with dead amusement. ôDepends on the weather.ö InoÆs look turned to befuddlement and Ranma elaborated. ôI change with water. Hot, and IÆm a guy. Cold and IÆm a girl.ö

ôThatÆs the weirdest bloodline IÆve ever heard of.ö Tenten shook her head, casuing Ranma to chuckle.

ôTell me about it.ö She replied with amusement. ôBut IÆm Ranma all the time, regardless of the body.ö

Hinata raised her hadn tentatively. ôWhat are you going to be teaching us, Sensei?ö

ôLotÆs of stuff.ö Ranma smiled. ôAside from the taijitsu work, IÆll be teachinÆ ya nearly everything ya need to know about beinÆ a kunoichi. Formal dining etiquette, calligraphy, tea ceremonies, how to dress, infiltrationàö

Hinata cocked her head. ôIà IÆm well versed in formal dining.ö

ôCan you incapacitate somebody with a spoon?ö

Ino gawked. Tenten stared. Hinata was left blinking. ôUm, no?ö

ôThen ya ainÆt well versed enough.ö Ranma countered, but smiled. ôBut you can probably help me out with these two.ö

ôMy calligraphy is very good!ö Ino blurted and Ranma shared her knowing smile with her.

ôMine can cut through walls.ö Ino resumed her gawking.

Bwahaha! Love that last line!
Hmm... I'll have to go back and read some... I feel like I'm missing something. Last I remember, Ranma had just agreed to train the girls, and now here he is suddenly with them. Did I miss something.

Greetings!

This looks like it's going to be another interesting chapter.

One correction though...

Ranma paused for a second, clearly not having thought the question through. ôStuff, I guess. What do you like, dislike, that sort of thing.ö

Heh, Ranma never could resist boasting about his skills and modesty is a foreign word to him.

Nice snippet.

Eh, it's just a snippet of the upcoming chapter so I think the events take place later on in the next chapter.

It's a snippet at an undisclosed point in the plot. No worries tho, as the groundwork to that point is written ^_^

Heh. The last line was my second favorite. The line to Tenten about improving was hilarious. So Ranmaish.

Awesome.

I'm not sure if there's anything quite as immensely terrifying as setting Ranma loose as a sensei for three developing kunoichi. I applaud you.

Hmm, will Ranma-chan be teaching some Anti-Pervert Tactics?

I do admit I am curious as to why Sakura was not included.

Will there be a common meeting place for them?

Before it goes too much further, should we post comments here or in the other topic?

Silly girl, perfection isn't hitting one hundred targets with one hundred kunai. Come back when you can hit one hundred targets with one kunai and we'll get serious about this.

As lunatic training for this sort of accuracy I can recall a Dangermouse epsiode where DM was playing golf. He tees off and puts the ball immediately into the first cup... then it bounces out and into the next, and the next... before landing on the green for the eighteenth hole. DM shakes his head. "I'm beginning to think that that Course in One was a fluke," he mutters. Then the ball rolls into the last cup. "Ah."

I found the spoon the funniest line. It came just a bit more unexpected to the girls, the calligraphy one not as much.

What's ikebana by the way? I'd figure flower arrangement from the set-up, but unsure, so that's the most glaring issue I had with the snippet. Never good to have the reader unfamiliar with what was just read.

Omake:

ôCan you incapacitate somebody with a spoon?ö

Ino gawked. Tenten stared.

Hinata reddened in embarrasment or dissapointment in herself and stuttered, "O-o-only with t-the fork a-and k-k-knife s-so far..." She never could get the hang of how to hold somene down without the pointy or sharp points so she could take someone out with the Juken, a fact for which her father constantly berated her for not succeeding where her younger sister could.

Never mind that the best her little sister managed to do with the same utensil was flicking peas at her head to distract her. That sort of action was just plain rude and shouldn't count!

ôStill ainÆt well versed enough,ö Ranma countered with a smile. "Still enout that you can probably help me out with these two.ö

As Ranma replied, Hinata's quickly diverting attention was snapped back to reality and away from the dark thoughts of the evil green peas and little sisters whose necks shouldn't be snapped because you're supposed to love them. She reddened a bit more from the recognition and began twiddling her fingers.

Ino and Tenten just looked at Hinata with raised eyebrows. What the hell where they teaching at that Hyuuga place?

You, sir, are WIN. Dangermouse. Holy fuckin' shit, it's been forever since I've seen that! I don't recall that Course-in-One but that sounds right.

I'm also wondering why Sakura didn't get included as well. Ranma having to break up daily catfights would've been so worth it. He'd probably appreciate it too since it's not over him for once. :snigger:

Hinata should somehow end up a master of seduction, but essentially remain unchanged. Have her get good enough to make embarrassment go from cute to rape-ably cute!

....I just had a revelation.

in the Ranmaverse, we see that as the levels of Ki and control over it goes up, the aging of the subject is staved or slowed more and more as is higher this..

However, in the Narutoverse, with Chakra, what use Ki and Physical energy, we see that the aging in Shinobi works in normal rates, and all characters use special techniques or Kinjutsus to challenge age...

This would theoretically imply, what while Ki has a countering effect to cellular aging, Physical energy would likely have the opposite effect, accelerating it......

The implications are interesting as hell, why this would mean what new techniques could be developed to use this effect of each energy......a Medical Jutsu, but with Ki energy, would possibly revert cellular aging while healing...or the same, using physical energy, would be used to boost the damage on the body...and this could be extrapolated to Ninjutsus what use Chakra on a more raw form......

If Ranma gets clue of this....hoo boy...for not talk of Konoha, Orochimaru or Kabuto, and Tsunade and/or Jiraiya......

Pandora's box indeed.... :hmm:

Shit...with this one.....get ready for a lot of dead catgirls........ :yay:

Heh, nice.

I can see things are only going to go downhill for the girls from here, question is how big and steep is the hill.

And then for advanced training, require that level of accuracy with hair pins while running an obstacle course in full formal kimono and carrying an injured teammate, with points deducted for damage done to the kimono, hairstyling, any hairpins not recovered during the run or if the instructor thinks that the teammate didn't look like she was just being accompanied to the restroom to touch up her make up.

With regards to the control of Ki slowing down aging - we only have two examples in the Ranmaverse - Happosai, and the Amazon Elders. It's not certain that mere control of Ki grants a slowing down of aging (which has its downsides, as is shown by the evident shrinking), as it could be a special Amazon technique that Happosai stole at some point - perhaps something along the lines of drawing energy out of the surroundings.

Even assuming that it is just the control of Ki (how is it being controlled exactly?) slows down aging, that doesn't mean that physical energy (chi?) would cause aging. Perhaps Ki is solely responsible for the user's aging, and physical energy has no effect - thus control of Ki could lead to slower or faster aging. This is supported by the fact that Hinako's technique rapidly ages her and deages her when the Ki runs out; otherwise, she does not age at all.

However, as for techniques - there's no sign in the Ranmaverse, AFAIK, that ki techniques can be used on others that affect their aging, except indirectly (Happosai somehow giving Hinako the technique).

Although - I suppose Orochimaru would be quite interested in the technique that made Hinako the way she was. How would that work on an older body? Draining Ki ages you to an old crone?

Funny scene coming up. Ranma meeting Gai Maito and Rock Lee. He is Tentens teacher...sooner or later he will meet the rest of her team. Now imagine Rock Leee with some tutoring from Ranma

"...and if the wolves catch me, I will swim downstream with an anchor chained to my foot! and if..."

I think Lee and Ranma would make better occasional rivals, myself. Lee DOES outclass Ranma in strength and speed(minus weights), but Ranma's more agile and skilled. It'd be a fun match, although one that Ranma would win due to his improvisational skills.

I'm personally wondering if he'll pick anything up from his students themselves, Hinata in particular. Admittedly I just want to see Ranma somehow pick up/make his own variation of the Hakkesh Kaiten and give Hiashi a stroke.

His interaction with them is the main point of it, either way, though.

since when does Lee outclass Ranma in anything? Is that you that came up with that?
