Ranma watched the kunoichi saunter off the platform and down the path and around a thicket of luch greenery before turning back to the girls. ôAlright, first I gotta get to know you. I guess weÆll start with you, No-chan.ö
ôNo..chan?ö The blonde blinked. Her new instructor was clearly focused on her, butà ôWhat do you want to know?ö
Ranma paused for a second, clearly not having through the question through. ôStuff, I guess. What do you like, dislike, that sort of thing.ö
ôOh.ö Ino nodded. It was a simple request. ôI love to practice my ikebana, I dislike that pink haired witch pawing MY Sasuke and am heir to the Yamanaka bloodline.ö
ôI ainÆt no ikeban master, but we can probably trade notes.ö Ranma returned as memories of man eating plants danced through her head. After TomaÆs island, nobody laughed at her skills in that arena. That, and there was only one pink haired witch she know of around Konohaà ôAnd whatÆs your family bloodline do?ö
ôIt specializes in mind-body manipulation.ö She answered in a haughty tone.
ôHmm. Sounds useful.ö The redhead filed the fact away for later consumption. ôHow about you, Ten?ö
ôTenten.ö She correct with slight annoyance which passed quickly as she complied with the request. ôI like to paint, dislike spiders and am really, really good with ranged wepondry.ö
ôHow good?ö
ôI currently hold the kunai trial academy record.ö The odangoÆd girl smiled confidently. ôOne hundred out of one hundred.ö
ôDonÆt worry, weÆll improve that some.ö Ranma smiled benevolently and TentenÆs satisfaction turned into a frown. What, perfect wasnÆt good enough for this girl?!
ôYour turn, æNata.ö Ranma stated, bypassing TentenÆs frustration completely.
ôIà umàö Hinata twitled her fingers nervously and her eyes drifted to the ground. ôI, like somebody, um, dislike hurting people and practice my family art, the Juken.ö
ôJukenàö The word rolled off RanmaÆs tongue. ôPressure points, force redirection and all that?ö A silent nod from the girl prompted Ranma to continue. ôAnd the Byakugan like your old man?ö
HinataÆs posture stiffened slightly at the off handed mention. ôY-Yes.ö
ôInteresting.ö The redhead commented, taking the three in as a whole.
The No-girl seemed passably profiecient in the art by her posture, but not overly so. In fact, it was quite obvious that by her refined look and manner that there was probably a princess complex in there that would need broken down before any real training could begin. Blue eyes passed from Ino to Tenten and Ranma suppressed a chuckle. Looks like a little amazon. Confident in her ability but probably at about the same mediocre level as No-girl when it came to hand to hand.
It was already clear that Hinata was going to be the biggest challenge of the group. No-girl sheÆd have to be careful with in breaking down the princess complex without shattering her, but it was doable. Ten would probably be the easiest to train out of the bunch, but Hinataà The girl had issues, self confidence being the prime among those. her stance and posture told her there was definitely skill beneath the exterior, but little in the way of assertiveness of confidence.
Gonna be a bitch to overcome and I ainÆt no psychologist, Ranma through to herself, sizing the girl up. Halfta ask Kurenai-sensei about her later.
ôAlright, a little about me then.ö Ranma broke from her observations, holding the trio with blue eyes. ôYour first question is probably how can this cute little redhead your age be teaching you how to be kunoichi?ö All three girls nodded and Ranma smiled mischievously. ôBecause this cute little redhead is the heir to the Musabetsu Kakut? Ry? and master of over twenty styles of taijutsu, in addition to a dozen or so of the more obscure arts.ö The watching girls faced formed into expressions of disbelief. ôAside from that, I love martial arts, okanomiyaki and hate pigs.ö
The blonde raised her hand. ôWhatÆs up, No-chan?ö
ôIno.ö The girlÆs face scrunched, but moved on to her question. ôYouÆre a boy and a girl?ö
Saw that one coming a mile away, Ranma snorted with dead amusement. ôDepends on the weather.ö InoÆs look turned to befuddlement and Ranma elaborated. ôI change with water. Hot, and IÆm a guy. Cold and IÆm a girl.ö
ôThatÆs the weirdest bloodline IÆve ever heard of.ö Tenten shook her head, casuing Ranma to chuckle.
ôTell me about it.ö She replied with amusement. ôBut IÆm Ranma all the time, regardless of the body.ö
Hinata raised her hadn tentatively. ôWhat are you going to be teaching us, Sensei?ö
ôLotÆs of stuff.ö Ranma smiled. ôAside from the taijitsu work, IÆll be teachinÆ ya nearly everything ya need to know about beinÆ a kunoichi. Formal dining etiquette, calligraphy, tea ceremonies, how to dress, infiltrationàö
Hinata cocked her head. ôIà IÆm well versed in formal dining.ö
ôCan you incapacitate somebody with a spoon?ö
Ino gawked. Tenten stared. Hinata was left blinking. ôUm, no?ö
ôThen ya ainÆt well versed enough.ö Ranma countered, but smiled. ôBut you can probably help me out with these two.ö
ôMy calligraphy is very good!ö Ino blurted and Ranma shared her knowing smile with her.
ôMine can cut through walls.ö Ino resumed her gawking.
