General WOW questions

Hmm. Then that means that someone is trying to pick up Quest Helper. Then again, that was true when I first got it. The version I got of Quest Helper before it 'failed', was supposed to be the recent version of it (at the time). It was simply updated to work for 2.4.3. They probably updated for 3.0.2 now.

Of course it's unknown if that support would continue to Wrath.

I'll check it out again, but I don't want to go through another 'memory' leak like I did. Especially since this computer again, isn't 'memory' rich so to speak.

It has been updated, or at the very least, it's listed as one of the patch 3.0 uupdated addons in both wowinterface and curse.

Still, I prefer to just use Jame's guide for seeing how to chain quests together, rather than questhelper.

Yeah. Thinking about it, it was 'supported' in terms of making sure it worked with the latest version of WoW. After all, I had to make sure it worked with 2.4 before getting it. That person probably was able to update it for 3.0.2. However, AFAIK, there is no dedicated person who will update it with Wrath quest when Wrath comes out. It might still work for Wrath and would be useful for leveling alts. But I'm not sure it would go beyond that.

And I'm not sure they fixed the memory leak problem. Now there was a do it yourself fix for it (delete the cache), but I can't be bothered looking for the cache folder and deleting it. <_<

This might be a stupid question, but how do I get into Teldrassil from Darnassus? Only place I know is Rutheran Village and the portal. I have no idea how to reach the rest of the island, places like Shadowglen or Starbreeze Village.

Once you're in Darnassus (from going through the Rutheran Village portal), walk/ride East past the gate. <_<

Not so hard...

Thx. I tried to drop down the waterfal on the west side earlier... that was stupid.

Well if you notice on the map, Darnassus is on the west side of the island. It would be... logical to assume that the rest of the island would be on the East side.

Right. Everything in that game is sooo logical. Heh, at the moment I'm on a small egg hunt. The things sell really well in the AH at the moment thanks to Christmas. I collected over 150 yesterday.

Small eggs are a great way to earn gold this time of year. One of the little secrets in making gold this time of year. :unsure!:

Just make sure you sell them now before Winter Veil ends.

Are there any interesting presents you can get from Santa?

Too bad you can't repeat the Santa quest. That was great with Halloween, you could trick and treat every hour.

Oh, where can I get a Christmas cap?

.....

Go to an inn.

Use /kiss on a winter reveler.

???

Profit!

And the winter cap's drop off select bosses in Wrath instances. Gotta be at least able to get into the Nexus to get one.

Alright, a friend of mine called and asked if there are any servers (US) with a dominant Alliance population. Thing is, I have no idea where to look for the answer to that question.

Can anyone here lend a hand?

A number of servers are "Alliance dominated" if by that you mean in terms of numbers of players on each side. (Don't know of any others, personally.) I can confirm Eonar (PvE realm) as one (3 to 1 ratio). Horde still win most bgs though.

I'm sure some WoW site has census information about each server.

The hats are world drops too. But The likely hood of finding one is so slim, it's not worth trying.

There is a WoW Census site out there. Though it may not be the most accurate. Since it requires someone with an addon to scan the server on a given day. And even then, it's only a snapshot of a server's population via what side you're on (I don't have the addon, but I'm assuming it checks just the side you're on via the chat channels and so forth). So a day where a lot of players in general are on might record say, the Alliance side, could be inflated while on a day with fewer players on, could record fewer Horde players. This despite the fact that on the day the Alliance side record XXXX number of players, the Horde side could have been doubled that.

I will say from personal observation, the PvE server Aeies Peak is overwhelmingly Alliance (of course, it's also a full server so no more players). Another PvE, Muradin, is also Alliance bias (though not overwhelmingly so like Aeies Peak).

The PvP servers I'm on all seem to be Horde bias. From a low pop server like Darrowmere (where TFFers first started), Gurubashi (though the server is more 50/50... well, maybe 45/55 with Horde having more), to the current (though I've all but abandoned it) TFF server, Bloodscalp.

As for Horde winning most BGs, seems to be true in a lot of servers, even those with Alliance majorities. Might lead credence that the people that play Alliance are of the younger side of things. There are exceptions though, like when they hit 70 (80 now?) where the Alliance seem to be doing better for some reason. And some BGs, for whatever reason, are better suited for the Allies (Warsong Gulch).

Zephryus, Solarman, SimmyC, SotF (I believe), and me, to name a few. We're all Horde, just do a /who for the guild Band of the Hawks.

Ok here is a General Question for all the TFF WoW players. Does anyone play on the US Deathwing? If so what Faction?

My Character is a lvl 72 Blood Elf Hunter. Morisato
Feel free to look me up

Also as far as Addon's I Personally rely on Carbonite Quester. you can find it on WoWMatrix. Or you can download it from Here

From what I've heard Carbonite Runs alot like Quest Helper. (which i've never used)

Perks
Quest Tracking
Killing zones
Quest reward locations
Can see other Users in the same area you are in (if they have Carbonite)
Track Party Members
Works Great in PvP Zones

Cons
Doesn't help to find Quests
Updates are Random at best (usually after a Patch)
Distance Tracker is annoying (thought it can be moved)

There's my 2 Cents for addon's

Just google "realm activity" to get a hit for warcraftrealms.

Head there and look at specific servers.

You can determine alliance/horde play ratios.

And you can determine which classes are played heaviest on which servers.

Really helps someone rerolling (or just starting) pick the best server for them.

Remember to consider timezone.

Was playing last night and after turning in a quest got the Wrathgate Achievement, then a ingame movie played, so I was wondering if their are any other movies you can unlock.

Sadly, that's currently the only one. I think everyone wishes there were more.

No other movies I think you can unlock as far as I know, but the in-game event of Tirion stabbing Arthas' heart is almost as cool. On the movie, though, I was actually in impressed with Saurfang the Younger; enough to call him worthy of GAR.

Hopefully we'll see some cool things with Yogg-Saron's appearance(?) in Ulduar.

From what I'm feeling, he's going to be a raid-breaker, just as C'Thun was.

Got a question for raiders. Anyone know of an addon that tracks icd for trinket procs and such?

Like, what do you mean, tracks? Keeps track of and displays internal cooldowns, or tracks how often they proc compared to the internal cooldown, or something else?

CompactBars can show internal cooldowns and such. But I don't know how well it works, since I don't use it.

Procodile can keep track of how often something procs, gives an estimated internal cooldown, and a bunch of other stuff. I also don't know how this works, since I don't use it either.
