Greatest SI fics of all time

I'm feeling a little nostalgic thanks to <a href='http://www.fanfiction.net/s/6052381/1/bSleeping_b_With_The_bGirls_b_Vol_II_Chaos_Theory' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>Sleeping with the Girls</a> for good SI fics (few though they may be) so I thought, "hey I'll annoy those guys at TFF, surely they will drop a few nuggets, some I may not have read before."

So...

What are the best SI out there? No limit on genre or fandom.

Dartz I commend you on your creative SI, but I believe your skills are wasted on SI. Why not write a different Shinji fic, hmmm?

Also, several other fics at <a href='http://www.eyrie-productions.com/' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>Eyrie Productions</a> are good, most of them SIs.

I don't know if he was a writer himself but at least one of the original SI's from Undocumented Features is in fact dead.

However, Ben Hutchins, who writes most of the Eyrie stuff starting with Undocumented Features 1 back in 1991 is still going depsite being 1) a published author and 2) back at college.

He's just done two updates for <a href='http://www.eyrie-productions.com/WL/' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>Warrior's Legacy</a>, three if you count the mini-story that backfills some history. That one happens to be a Streetfighter SI with elements from Fatal Fury, X-Men, James Bond and Tomb Raider (among others, as usual).

Sleeping with the Girls was good?

The guy who wrote that couldn't even keep to the rules he set for himself.

1) Magic nullifies.
Protag still gets his mind read somehow. Plus for some reason Washu gave him a suit that only seems to negate this. Sure there's the strength boost but that also seems to be more of a pain in the ass than a beneficial function.

2) The tropes of the series are as solid as the laws of physics.
This only seems to apply when there isn't drama. Seriously if this were true than Happosai wouldn't have tried to kill the guy, The whole depacle during his second trip to the Sailor Moon universe wouldn't have happened, and the cop in Those Who Hunt Elves would not have used a spell that makes the Cruciatus look like a playful pinch. I'm sure there's more but I can't quite remember much anymore.

When I saw this thread, I was literally about to post that fic. It's definitely one of my favourites.

Personally, I don't consider that a SI anymore, more like an OC fic. The author's insert basically lost all of her foreknowledge, so there's no real point in calling it an SI anymore.
