Looking for a time-travel fic. Sends Harry back before Hogwarts start, and I'm not sure if just before or really far back.
Only thing I do remember and the reason I want to check it out again is one scene. Basically Harry walks to Hogwarts from the station rather than taking the boats, and treats Snape like a Butler when he arrives, before entering the Great Hall, giving him his coat and all that, and Snape blows up just as McGonagall arrives, making her tear into him.
Don't know, something about skillfully antagonizing Snape, then screwing him over is just awesome. Don't remember if the rest is any good, though.

The device was made so that one of his parents (I think his father) could watch shows as he had become addicted to muggle television. You could watch the shows, or use a command so it implanted 'everything' about the show into your head. So, any skills that were shown in the episode, you could perform. Petunia starts getting closer to Harry, and uses the device to gain skills from cooking shows that had been recorded with the device.
Harry latter makes himself magical costumes that give him the abilities of the character. The ones I recall are Gumby and Inspector Gadget. This allows him to enter into books and learn from them.
