With all the time travelling Harry fics, why not have Harry go back in time after he loses everyone and then save himself from the Dursley's to raise himself. Just thought that would be fun and then you could have him hook up with Narcissa or Bellatrix and not make them appear creepy. Heck why not hook up with Rosemerta, she's hot. Just an idea as I'm not a great writer but avid reader.

He is right. This idea DOES hold something that could be used to make a good story, but it hasn't been taped yet. I would recomend dementional travel rather than time travel if you do use this idea. It solves the whole paradox crap that you would otherwise have to wade through. It would also let you use a few other idea seeds that are also just good untill you make something that is either great, or befudeling from haveing too many plot elements. I guess it depends on how well you can tie it together.
Not to be seen as hijacking this thread, but... well... yeah, I'm hijacking this thread. How about, instead of a Harry that lost against Voldemort and decides to travel back in time to prevent the Dark Lord conquering Britain, or whatever plot device is used to send him back through time; Harry won the war, and after a while, say a couple of decades), he decides to try and do things better (read make young!Harry a 'man among men'). Haven't seen a fic where a victorious Harry decides to raise his younger self for the hell of it before, it could prove to be amusing.
Dredging this back up (ok so it's only been a few weeks so dredging might not be the right word...) Over on KrakensGhost's LJ he just posted the prologue to a new story where Naruto meets Naruto; from an apocolyptic future and sets him on an entirely different path before fading away. Perhaps something similar could be done here where a Harry from a future screwed beyond saving by something other then Voldemort manages to slip way back in time to set his younger self on a different path, leaving behind information - but unfortunantly with gaps here and there and big chunks of the story missing due to lack of time.
