I am the level 70 paladin in your guild, Kazimir.

The paladin was my one and only attempt at raiding and after getting bored to tears in Karazhan i promptly said "Oh hell no", and shelved him for my other characters. Currently i am in a possibly futile wait for Blizzard to get their heads out of their asses and fix AV so my Battlegroup (BG9) can once again have decent honor grind available. Thus, you are now proud owners of a Kara geared healbot for the duration of the abovementioned hiatus. If you need a hand for any instance runs, drop a line in this thread and i will be there. (75% chance) (Blame Neverwinter Nights and TF2)

Also, i am the proud and somewhat embarrassed owner of several 70s who are sporting most of the s2 purples. If you have any questions on how to kill class X as a class Y, chances are i can give some sound advice.

Good luck and happy grinding. - LXK

P.S. Darrowmere just got free transfers opened to it from Tich, hope you have a high tolerance for assholes and bullshit.

I would like to state that i fell over laughing hearing an ally claim that AV was unfair. Perhaps after they change the base setups so that the allies have to fight half the npcs in the horde base, and that the horde archers arent useless when you go to cap a horde tower... Maybe it'll be a little more fair. But then, all it takes for AV to go back to ally domination is for someone to come up with a preform av for the allies ; ).

And, as a raiding pally myself, I'd say give it another try... I enjoy myself immensly in Kara and ZA, but then, I have a rather good guild, and the vent conversations are fun.

Unfortunately its not the actual imbalance, its the perception of one. Some idiot alliance went "Omfg, we loose AV, it MUST be imbalanced!!!1111one". They conviniently forgot that Horde always had 20 Valiant Cave Defenders per game, thus were unable to muster an actual resistance. Now that everyone froths at the mouth and hammers the "REPORT THE BASTARD" button on every Cave Defender, Horde actually has everyone playing. It also doesn't help that when that stupid boycott went in and queues jumped to 2 hours, Horde pretty much have to milk every single honor point from the game to justify the queue. Thus the Scorched Earth is employed and alliance never sees anything past SH graveyard.

All that aside, Blizzard already caved in and blue said they will be "fixing" AV in 2.4. So all the righteous anger and the boggling is irrelevant now. I just hope new AV doesn't suck.

Glad to see you here, Kaz.

I know us lowly lower lvls aren't much fun right now, but do feel free to pop online and say hello from time to time. :p

Also glad to see that you joined in here at TFF. Welcome and try to keep a good grasp on your sanity and your morals. They tend to slip away when you're not looking...

I might take you up on your offer to run a few of the probies through some instances, if you don't mind. Don't know how soon that will be, though.

I have a low-60s BE mage myself (my highest character T_T) and I've noticed a distinct imbalance in the first AV bracket due to the differences in how horde and alliance play. Example: new Horde players are advised to leave SFGY for the allies the entire game since taking it in addition to SHGY triggers a superturtle and, while the honor grinding is actually BETTER that way for hordies, and especially for an AOE class, it takes a hell of a lot longer to win or lose.

Then there's the fact that we (horde) turn in shit to almost everyone, while the allies only go use a wing commander about 40% of the games. About 30% of the games I've played have included summoning Lokholar (the elementals win games by themselves, if the enemy doesn't summon their own), 50% have had at least one flyer on our side, and 70% have had us max out our npcs. Neither side has anyone who goes and gets the necessary stuff for either infantry or cavalry charges, but then, who bothers taking the time for that?

Those few games the horde has lost that I've played in were due to the allies actually getting their brains in gear and doing to us what we do to them, namely sending about 3/4 of their people in a concerted offense. In my battlegroup (Retaliation) horde players will often break off offense to make sure that we keep graveyards and the towers below Iceblood, and if the allies are there in overwhelming force we can't take them back. It's one of the reasons I don't mind a superturtle--we WIN those nine times out of ten.

Anyway, good of you to come join us, thanks for warning us that the free transfer's in effect... and I hope beyond hope that they don't screw up the low-level markets.

In the 61-70 bracket, you NEVER see anyone summoned.

Ever.

Ever ever ever.

The only times i ever saw that shit happen was in the lower bracket.

Basic horde av strategy (this is not including the premade strategies, which are better, but require more teamwork) is to rush IW and SH bunker, kill bal with other people, and send even more onto spgy/aide station. Very little defense, usually, and horde often gets (or rather, got) fucked over by afkers. I've been in matches where i've had 10-15 afkers, and it sucks.

Thank god for premades, which vastly reduce the amount of afkers.
