Well, I haven't. Am I missing out on anything?

And, to get back on topic, what kind of Plot are we looking at here? Or is the story driven by romance and humor alone?

Fire to arrow is the most common form of dragon on human combat.

I'm looking at two major arcs here, one in Berk first involving Alvin the Treacherous and one in Konoha to tie up the Akatsuki issues and Madara's plans.

If the lizard doesn't choose to play B-17 over Berlin with some boulders it finds.

That should prove interesting the vikings reaction to four tail Naruto and his "Pwetty Beam".

Well, I can't see the second arc going well for anyone

Well, anyone but the vikings. His fact thread made it pretty clear that the vikings are not ordinary humans.

Okay, this is just a thought to make Hiccup's life more difficult in the Berk arc, but how would things go if I added Camicazi to the mix for a little spice? I figure a childhood friend from another Viking tribe that might want to challenge Astid's claim could make for a nice little side story. Especially one with similar clout to Hiccup's being the daughter of the leader of the Bog Burglar tribe.

I've never seen it, but I'm rather interested.

I've gotta see this movie. I forgot about this thread, but now that they announced the film out on DVD and you brought my attention back to this topic, I'm gonna see if I can rent it this weekend.

If he's not interested in her then she doesn't matter. And none of this matters if you don't write it.

Camicazi is from the original book series, not the movie. Some speculate Astrid was based on her sice Astrid and Ruffnut aren't in the books, which doesn't make sense since her personality is totally different from Astrid's. She's like an unholy mix of Ranma's ability to insult people while fighting, Happosai's penchant for stealing undergarments while you're still wearing them, and Ruffnut's brash personality. The fact she would be a childhood friend of Hiccup's that would defend him would make her special to him, so he wouldn't just blow her interest off. Thus you have someone that can get under Astrid's skin and at least add some comic tension to the Viking couple.

So your saying her only good characteristic is she might take Hiccup's side?

In the novels at least, she and Hiccup made an excellent team. She was daring and brash where he was shy and meek, and he acted as her sense of reason and restraint. The two of them together made for a frightfully effective team. Her personality is abrasive, but than again so is the average Viking's. Considering that Camicazi comes from a Viking tribe that's predominantly matriarchal, it's not at all surprising that she would be a little rough around the edges.

I'll admit I'm adding her more for the sake of tension in Hiccup's life than anything else, but she does have her good points. She's loyal, adverturous, and playful. She would also loathe Astrid with a passion. Keep in mind that for the first two thirds of the movie or so until she was impressed by Hiccup and Toothless, Astrid was a perfectionist that cared little for Hiccup in any significant manner. She was essentially a Fem!Sasuke with blonde hair until Hiccup forced her to evolve. Camicazi, on the other hand, is much more like Naruto himself when he was younger. Astrid and Camicazi antagonizing each other and trying to get Hiccup's affections makes for a good side-plot and some potential comic relief.

The fact she was a childhood friend would factor in significantly too. Keep in mind that Hiccup was mostly ostracized and seen as a source of shame for the Hairy Hooligans until he emerged as a hero. Someone that not only understood the pressure of being a chieftan's heir and didn't judge him for how he handled it would have been beyond prescious to him. The fact that he would only see Camicazi a few times a year at most when the two tribes traded with each other just made it hard to push the friendship much further. Now Camicazi has come calling as Hiccup's generation is old enough to discuss things like courtship and dowries in the right circumstances. She literally did not expect anyone else to change how they treated Hiccup until she could claim him for herself. She'll be in for a rude awakening.

But are you going to change your mind? The old version made it clear that Astrid had no opposition.

If all fairness, what I have so far shows that Hiccup and Astrid are together with no competition in Berk. Camicazi is from a whole ofther tribe on a different islans that trades with Berk occasionally and would show up after Naruto has integrated into Hairy Hooligan society a bit. I'm not saying I'm abnout ot break Astrid and Hiccup apart, just that it would add an interesting side-story for comic tension.

In that case I say you drop. All you'll end up is a girl in the dumps.

Perhaps you should try that as a separate story?
