Nasuverse I watched, Now I want to play!

I just watched all 24 episodes of fate/stay night... within the last 12 hours. It was a marathon of win and awesome. Then I found out that the anime only covered one storyline and there were two others. I was intrigued. So, I go google fate/stay night and find a translation by uh.. mirrormoon I think, and it looks pretty legit. I go through all the installation crap till it asks me where about my fate/stay night disk is so it can patch it with english.

Now, I don't have a disk. On top of that I have neither funds to buy a disk, nor the patience to wait for it to arrive. Are there any alternatives I should look into.

I'm pretty shameless about how I get my goodies so, uhh, some rather unconventional means are perfectly acceptable.

I'm sorry, but MirrorMoon, the people who put in all the work translating the first two scenarios, discourages software piracy. You'll have to find it on your own.

Seriously, though, I doubt it's that hard. Just use Google or something. I bought my copy, but...torrents and stuff like that are fricking EVERYWHERE.

See, I can download it sure. But, I don't know if the patch would work with an iso. Sigh. Thanks anyway. And, thanks for not being a paladin against piracy. It's really annoying when people are. Yes, I know I'm not supporting the makers, but I'd never see it otherwise and gas>entertainment... okay, stopping before I begin to rant.

Hmm...well, given the way other *insert foreign language here* to English patches I've used before function (I have nothing against occasional software piracy, but in this case I bought the game due to all the work MirrorMoon put into it and their request for people not to pirate it), I think as long as you install it properly, the patch should work fine.

I mean, even though the install menu in F/SN's case was in Japanese, it was simple to install it and then apply the patch; there's no reason an ISO would be any different, as long as it's used properly.

While I would never do something as vile and evil as downloading a game that is unavailable in my country to enjoy reading through the vnovel, the mirror moon patch works fine with any image you mounted by tools such as alcohol120 or daemontools, or so I've been told by a person who looks a lot like me whenever I look in a mirror.

He only looks like you when you look in a mirror? That must be awkward.

And from what I understand the anime actaully mashed bits and pieces from every storyline so it wasn't completely canon. And Shirou apparently is a bit less kind towards womens rights in the games.

HF's translation should be almost done. It's just a matter of waiting.

As for HA... No idea of when.

It's such a shame I forgot how to read Korean. HA has been translated into that but not into English.

Sorry for the necro, but this thread fits my needs.

I actually just got Fate/Stay Night.

Now, I have to install it.

Does anyone know where I can find a guide to install, or should I just click and hope?

Oh, and I can't read japanese. Hence, the request.

And how am I supposed to install the translation patches? I suck with computer stuff...

Sorry for the necro but... help. :blue:

EDIT:
Fucking...
Okay, so I'm at the part of the intallation where it's asking me where to put it (I think) and it's bouncing me. What the heck's going on?!

I'd post a screen shot, but I don't think that'd help all that much. Most of what should be text has beeen replaced with question marks... For all that I can still read the buttons...

...missing a .txt file?

try cancelling the search or browsing into the folder that's specified on the main install screen right above the green bar and looking for a .txt file.

that IS weird, though...

Fucking... GRAAAAHHH!

Why does it all pop up as question marks?!

Is it just that my computer can't read japanese text or what?

Does anyone have a clue what it might be?

EDIT
Go international settings!

Now available in moonspeak!

AND INSTALL COMPLETE!!

Now, to patch it...

I looked it up.

Apparently the game doesn't install right unless you're using specific settings.

So, technicaly, you didn't help. But you got me to stop freaking out about it so bad, and go use some google-fu. Thanks.

And the patch is done. Time to play a game.

You know... Fakku.net has a custom installer for the game. You'll need to sign up though I think. Plus you get it voiced without needing to get a hold of realta nua. Less headaches everywhere. ;)

The patch has an installer, so if you have a legal copy it works.
