These will be the first ideas that I put up here and hope someone likes them.

Recently I have reread some older stories dealing with something called the Bet or was that called Toltiir's well not sure but anyways I was thinking why not start that up again but with Naruto instead.

I was thinking of an idea to be can be used for the bet would be Naruto having found a weapon or object that he slowly restores to how it once was causing an odd side effeict to happen being that mermories and knowledge of it's former owner's life and fighting style to be seen through his dreams.

From what I've read, the Bet was a kind of challenge to the Ranma 1/2 fanfiction community, to take various Gods or heavenly figures, and allow them to make a change , or changes, to Ranma's life, and go nuts. There's one where Zeus is the father, which makes for a 6'6 Blonde Bastion of Beef Ranma, there's Source of Pride by Metroanime, there's tons and tons of divergences, AUs and Xovers attributed to the bet. Great reads, admittedly.

So the idea would be to take 'the well' and let figures start making change to the Narutoverse. The thing about Ranma when that started is that the manga was complete, and it happens to span a couple of different continents, with a wide array of characters and conflicts. Not so sure about Naruto, if it will translate too well into the Bet type of Scenario. But imagine letting Yondaime make changes, or Shinigami, or Sarutobi, or Orochimaru's arms. (That's humor for you.) or letting some of the Gods into play, letting Susanowo or Amaterasu, or Bhudda, or bringing on other pantheons and letting them make chagnes.

I could just picture Orochimaru's arms, in sign language, doing all they can to make Orochimaru pay.

Ha, that was great DhampyrX2, thanks for the chuckle. Even if it is a disturbing mental image. Just for shits an giggles you could let the Kyuubi have access to the well, with the restriction that he/she/it/whatver isn't allowed to get rid of the seal (Shinigami is bored and decides letting the fox be creative could be funny)

Since none of those realities would be permanent it wouldn't matter if in one of those realities the seal was removed. Though it would be a bit boring to watch.

The way the Bet was written, IIRC, was that anything that used the well was a real alternative reality. There was a simulator for fake realities. Ares or someone made that mistake and created a real Ranmaverse instead of an easily dispelled simulation.

Yes, but they were only temporary. The prize for winning the Bet was the winning reality was made permanant.

There were a few bet fics where even though they didn't 'win' they still became permanent, they usually involved Ranma becoming so powerful the reality could not be erased. Also, the realities are temporary from a immortal diety's point of view, meaning they could still easily last thousands of years.

Now that I thinka it, The Bet sounds like a fic describing the process that goes on in this forum.
