Thats canon too, Chad has an obsession with cute things, and tries to chase down Kon once when Kon ran away after being scrubbed with a toilette brush by Rukia.

EDIT: dammit, I missed that the Gin thing, is no, thats not exactly canon as Gin seems to only hold any feelings for Matsumoto.
