Interchanged Fates û Unusual Company

Japan, Fuyuki City, Matou Residence û 7:37 AM

Emiya Shirou wasnÆt one to dream often. Before his involvement in the Holy Grail War, he would have honestly admitted that he didnÆt want to dream because he often dreamed of that fateful day where he nearly died and where he met his foster father.

After the last fight with Gilgamesh and Kotomine, his views on dreams shifted. Although he would occasionally dream about some of the darker moments of the Holy Grail War, he did have some good dreams which more than often had Saber present in them. And quite a number of them were erotic in nature.

Well, he is a healthy teenage boy dealing with hormones and matters of the heart.

This particular dream was far from erotic. The setting of this dream is in a dense forest. The sun was setting at this point so the surroundings were mostly a golden colour. But that didnÆt really bother Shirou since he could still see SaberÆs beautiful face clearly.

His dream self knelt down by the tree trunk where SaberÆs body rested. Her blonde locks had been released from the conservative hairstyle that he had always seen her with. She was dressed in her standard battle costume with silver chest plating and blue clothing. Her typical skirt armour and gloves were missing though. Her face was relaxed as she slept on, oblivious to the companion next to her.

That was okay with Shirou. He wouldnÆt want to disrupt this delicate scene before him.

He wanted to savour this image for as long as possible but unfortunately, his body clock started to rouse him from his slumber. The forest, sunset background and the sleeping Saber vanished from his sight as his body started readjusting itself to reality. He had to admit that while he was far from being in healthy condition, at least itÆs better than the first time he woke up when he made his trip to the bathroom to puke.

His joints were feeling stiff as he got out of the bed so he did a bit of stretching. After a few minutes of waking up, he noted the time on the clock before he exited through the open bedroom door. There should be enough time for a quick cleaning and a meal before school starts.

While he washed his face, he could vaguely hear a few sounds downstairs of condiments being gathered. At the thought of food, his stomach started to grumble in anticipation of being fed. He quickly dried himself off and made his way down the staircase.

As he entered the kitchen, he saw Sakura, dressed in the same pink outfit that he had seen before, rummaging through a few shelves. ôHuhà now where did I put the miso soup stock? Ah!ö She triumphantly pulled out an item.

ôGood morning, Sakura!ö said Shirou with a small smile.

The plum haired girl noticed the smiling young man and gave a small blush. ôSempai! YouÆre up! Are you feeling better?ö

ôI am feeling a bit better as a matter of fact. That rest there did a few wonders for me. Anyways, IÆm sorry for causing you all that inconvenience so I would like to make it up to you by helping cook breakfast this morning.ö

She started shaking her free hand frantically while continuing to blush. ôThereÆs no need! YouÆre my guest so you donÆt have toàö

ôYouÆve come over to my home many times to cook. I insist that I repay the favour at least this time since IÆm here in your home. What do you need to get?ö He started looking through a few shelves.

ôUmà I think I have everything except for some soy sauce. I wish I knew where grandpa usually stores itàö She trailed off as Shirou pulled out a bottle of said sauce.

ôYou donÆt seem to be too familiar with your kitchen,ö said Shirou with a small laugh.

The blush on her face grew a bit redder. ôI guess IÆm just used to where you keep things in your kitchen that I get mixed up sometimes.ö

A few moments passed and a comfortable silence fell upon the two teenagers as they worked to prepare the morning meal for four people. Shirou would look after the soup and seaweed while Sakura looked after the rice, fish and vegetables.

The young girl couldnÆt help but shiver in delight. Cooking with her love interest like this felt quite intimate for her and this feeling was quite enjoyable. Although it had nothing on the time when she made a visit to his bedroom a few nights ago andà

æOh dear! I shouldnÆt be thinking of such thoughts right now!Æ But she was starting to blush more furiously. In an attempt to distract herself, she increased the pace of her vegetable chopping but memories of that night continued to surface.

ôSakura!ö

ôEh?ö She felt a tiny sting on her left thumb and noticed that she had cut herself. ôOh myàö

ôYouÆre okay, are you?ö Shirou examined the wound and quickly led the girl to the kitchen sink. ôLetÆs get this cleaned up. WhereÆs your first-aid kit?ö He turned on the water and placed her left hand underneath.

ôUmà itÆs okay, really! I was just a little distracted, thatÆs all.ö

ôItÆs not okay! I saw that cut and it looks like a pretty nastyàö He trailed off when he saw that all signs of blood had vanished from her left hand. In fact, there were no signs of a cut at all. It was as if she had regenerated whatever flesh and skin had been lost from the cut as soon as she injured herself.

ôààààö

ôSee? ItÆs really okay!ö She was then interrupted by the shifting of a chair and someone making their presence known near the dining table in the kitchen. Shirou glanced over to see a stranger dressed in only a large black cloak covering the body and a white mask with a pair of thin eye holes, a nose and some teeth at the bottom. Something about that stranger seriously unnerved him.

The stranger shifted its head ever so slightly to regard the young man and spoke. "Lovely morning, isn't it?"

It was far from a lovely morning for one Tohsaka Rin.

Unanswered questions and her concerns over their missing comrade and the altered Saber had kept her from getting a decent amount of sleep the night before and she felt more drained than usual. Her mind kept drifting to that shadow that they had encountered at IlyaÆs castle. Where did it come from and why did it specifically go after Shirou at that time?

There was also that black figure with the creepy white face mask that had fought against Archer. She had no idea what class it came from or who was that ServantÆs Masterà assuming itÆs even a Servant at all. Archer himself was at a bit of a loss on this ServantÆs identity since it didnÆt seem to possess any characteristics that would imply a class and it didnÆt use a Noble Phantasm. The only certainty from that battle is that the shadow had absorbed Berserker, after he had been weakened sufficiently by the tainted Excalibur.

Last but not least, there are the intentions of their unexpected saviour. While Rider has not revealed anything (and itÆs not like Rin was in a position to force her to talk), she hinted that she had been following her MasterÆs orders. The girl couldnÆt help but grimace at the fact that she very well owes one to that creep Shinji. She would have to talk to him about it later.

The only clue at her disposal was ShirouÆs story of how a mysterious shadow had swallowed Saber up when they went to the temple one evening to check up on a lead for another Servant and his strange meeting with SakuraÆs grandfather. ThereÆs a good chance that the shadow over there could be the same one as the one that they had seen at the castle.

She gave a groan before letting her upper body slump on the small dining table in ShirouÆs dining room. Her being given a spare key to his home since she became his ally in the Holy Grail War is just another thing to add to the list of gripes she has about Shirou in terms of being a practical Master. In this case, itÆs a bit of a break since she was able to prevent Ilya and Rider from finding out where she lived.

Just to add more food for thought, shouldnÆt she be killing Ilya off just to ensure that she does not form another pact with a Servant who had lost their Master? Then again, she too is probably aware about how things would normally go for someone in her situation but instead of trying to find a rogue Servant or seek asylum at the Church, she stayed with Rin and Archer. Why? This was just getting out of hand.

Speaking of Ilya, the small albino girl entered the kitchen and gave a small yawn. ôGood morning!ö The only response she got was a muffled curse from RinÆs slumped form. She walked over to the red clad magus and knelt down. ôHello?ö

ôUnnnnggghhhàö

Ilya tried a different approach and poked TohsakaÆs left shoulder. Instead of a groan, Rin actually said something. ôQuit it.ö

Poke.

ôQuit it.ö

Poke.

ôQuit it.ö

Poke.

ôQuit it.ö

Poke.

ôI said QUIT IT!!ö The last outburst briefly scared Ilya as she got an up close view of RinÆs very annoyed face with some dark bags under her eyelids.

ôJust give her a break already,ö muttered Archer as he came into view from the kitchen with a tray that had a tea kettle and four sets of cups and saucers. He set the tray down on the table before taking a seat right next to RinÆs right side.

ôSorry,ö muttered Ilya. The Servant ignored the apology and went to pour some tea in each cup and saucer set. He then passed one set over to Ilya who accepted it gratefully.

He had to admit that this is an awkward moment. A few days ago, Ilya had been enthusiastically trying to kill him, Rin, Saber and Shirou with Berserker to advance in the Holy Grail War and now heÆs serving her tea. æTalk about a sign of things being royally shot to hellàÆ

ôSo are we going to figure out how to save him?ö asked the albino girl as she took a sip of the steaming liquid.

Before Archer could answer, RinÆs upper body had slowly risen only to have her head fall on his left shoulder and use as a pillow. A miniscule blush appeared on his dark cheeks for only a microsecond before he coughed lightly. ôWeÆll figure something out after she has properly woken up.ö æShe can be such a troublesome Master at timesà but not as troublesome as Emiya.Æ

Normally, he wouldnÆt care for rescuing Emiya again since that boy was seriously more trouble than he is worth. However, he had to confirm whether Emiya is capable of throwing away his ideals and fighting for his own selfish reasons. Once he gets his answer, then he can figure out whether or not it would be worth trying to kill him. That means heÆs going to put in an honest attempt to rescue Shirou. æYet another sign of things being royally shot to hell,Æ thought Archer.

His hearing alerted him to the fourth member of the group entering the room and setting down a second tray that had a plate filled with toasted scrambled egg sandwiches. Ilya lit up at the sight of food and immediately went in to take a sandwich for herself. Within ten seconds, the sandwich had been eaten halfway. ôDelicious!ö

ôErà thank you.ö There was a light blush on RiderÆs cheeks from the praise she got from Ilya.

Archer raised a suspicious eyebrow. ôSince when could you cook?ö

ôI had been shown a few things here and there shortly by my Master when I was first summoned. I never really thought that those skills would actually come in handy.ö

ôUhà huhàö Archer merely filed the æRider can cookÆ fact in a mental folder labeled æsigns of things being royally shot to hellÆ before deciding to take his Master to a bathroom and splash a good amount of cold water in her face to help her wake up.

The ultimate goal of this fic is to eventually set up and execute a hot threesome between Shirou, Black Saber and Dark Sakura. :p

Jokes aside, I'm not entirely sure where I would want to go with this fic. Black Saber, True Assassin and Dark Sakura were barely used in Heaven's Feel and I want to rectify that but I'm not sure how to make good usage of their characters.

The only thing really bothering me is that you keep changing tenses, personally i prefer past tense in stories, but i think its better that the tense be kept to one type.

otherwise..... :yay:

Hopefully, Sakura isn't going to try and kill everyone this time around.

Hopefully Archer doesn't die.

But then again, I don't really care if Epsilon dashes my hopes or not. I am curious with where this will go.
