Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger

After having seen ep 7 of Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger, I really do have to say that out of all the other seasons previously...This has to be my favorite by far.

I love how the team, despite being aloof and somewhat detached from each other, really pulls out their tag team and combinations out really well.

Marvelous is just a plain badass person. There are no other words out there to describe him. I mean look at episode 5. He took on Police IN THEIR OWN BUILDING and got away before being captured by Doggie Crueger outside. If that's not badass, I don't know what is.

Joe....I can't really say, but he seems cool...Takes his sword style VERY proudly...reminds me of Zoro.

Luka, despite being greedy, really does have her heart in the right place. She has her reasons for being greedy, and I can understand that. I consider her the Nami of the show.

Don, aka Doc, really is the kindest next Ahim. But after ep 3 & 7, he shows that he really can pull through when he needs.

Ahim....I don't know what to say. I like her, but...I don't have much of an opinion on her right now.

After taking a look at the TV tropes page, I came to find out that Toei is helping this season, the same company that does One Piece. So now I guess I can understand why I see the parallels drawn between the two series...

Marvelous = Luffy
Joe = Zoro + Sanji
Luka = Nami
Don/Doc = Chopper + Usop
Ahim = Vivi

Well either way, I'm already liking this season, and I cannot wait to see how this how thing will play out.

Toei always has produced Super Sentai for a while now. Granted I don't see the One Piece paralles sense they are in a way not really pirates but scapegoats for the badguys.

So we get more info for Gokaiger for the people that do watch it...

We're going to get a sixth ranger named <a href='http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20110205151320/powerrangers/images/thumb/e/e8/GokaiSilver1.jpg/516px-GokaiSilver1.jpg' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>GokaiSilver</a>, who will use the powers of the sixth rangers. They include...

Dragonranger
Kibaranger
MegaSilver
TimeFire
GaoSilver
Shurikenger
AbareKiller
DekaBreak
MagiShine
BoukenSilver
Go-on Gold
Go-on Silver
ShinkenGold
GoseiKnight
GokaiSilver's Mecha is as follows...
-GokaiSilver's Robo seems to be called "Goujyujin" (Strong Beast God). It has a 3 step transformation- transforms from a Dinosaur, to a Drill Battleship, and then into a robo.

-The robo's right arm is a drill (in a nod to AbarenOh). The left arm is the Tyranno's head (a fist is inside the head). The legs are the Tyranno legs. Reminds the poster of a Bluish AbarenOh with accents.

-The entire bot is blue, only the head is red. Has an anchor-visor motif in yellow and red. GokaiSilver's anchor mark (in blue) is on the chest.

-Arms seem to be spin via a dial gimmick in the back. There is a union with GokaiOh, but it may only be arm switching.

<a href='http://img848.imageshack.us/img848/3412/1302705088911.jpg' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>Fan Interpretation 2</a>
<a href='http://www.gadgetspirit.com/pic/Transformers%202/TMSP/200x200-2007102600003.jpg' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>Other people's idea on what GokaiSilvers' mecha looks like</a>
Also....GokaiSilver will have the power to transform into a different form.

GokaiSilvers' Changer is somewhat different from the GokaiChanger...

GokaiSilvers' personal weapon is called GokaiSpear and is able to transform into 3 different states: A Trident, a spear, and a gun.

So the sixth members, GokaiSilver, mecha picture has been released.

Also....A rumor is going around that <a href='http://powerrangers.wikia.com/wiki/Barizorg' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>Barizorg</a> is rumored to be the one to become the sixth ranger....after becoming human...somehow...

GokaiSilver's RUMORED human actor.

Also, the next mecha that's going to be unlocked for the Gokaiger...I present to you...FuuRaiMaru!

That's all I have....Next post will be my opinion on ep 09 of Gokaiger....

Well I'm wrong about Barizorg becoming the sixth ranger...

His name is Gai Ikari.

He's a HUGE Super Sentai fan on earth and apparently from the scans description...

Gai saves a girl's life from a car accident, but was hurt. He then meets AbareKiller, DragonRanger, and TimeFire in his dream. The 3 previous 6th rangers approved his heroic action and sees Gai as a worthy candidate for the new 6th ranger, they then pass GokaiCelluar and Ranger Keys to him.

That right there is Dragonranger, AbareKiller, and TimeFire. All 3 have 3 things in common.
A) They're their teams "6th Ranger". (Even though AbareKiller is #5, he's considered the series 6th ranger.)
B ) They all have Dino themed zords (roughly :p)
And finally...
C)
Hidden for some spoilers said:
They all died during their respective series.

I can't help but like Basco for some reason. It may be for the way of his cheerful dickery of the heroes. Or it may be the way he's competent. Either way. I like him much better then Prince what's his face.

So when I saw MoB's sig over the last few days, my curiosity finally got to me and he told me what it was.

Damn, Gokaiger is so good.

I just finished watching ep4. Up till now, the thing that was bothering me was the issue of continuity. Mainly, where was the existence of SPD?

SPD, if I understand correctly, occurred somewhere around 2020.

This show looks like it's only reached year 2012-2013, so I couldn't understand how the pirates could have gained the SPD ranger abilities.

But now I just saw the preview for ep5 with Cruger.

Therefore, during this time, SPD must be at war with whatever empire this is.

Watched all episodes. Damn, to bad they got to compress everything in 50 episodes. Otherwise, this series would have become a Super Sentai Encyclopedia.

I'm pretty sure that was only the Power Rangers version that was set a bit further into the future.

Yea, the wiki says it was set in 2025.

The story takes place in the year 2025, after Earth has welcomed alien beings to live peacefully with the human race. But peace is short lived, as the planet-conquering Troobian Empire turns its destructive attention to Earth. When the Earth's first line of defense, the S.P.D. A-Squad, vanishes without trace, the protection of the planet falls to their replacements: the B-Squad Rangers, and their doglike alien commander, Anubis "Doggie" Cruger.
When two reformed thieves join the team as the Red and Yellow S.P.D. Rangers, tensions threaten to tear them apart. With the alien threat growing stronger every moment, the Rangers must put aside their differences and go into action as one.
Using teamwork, intergalactic weaponry and light-speed Zord vehicles to battle evil, they unite to become one of the ultimate forces for good: Power Rangers Space Patrol Delta.
I still don't get how they would have the spd powers though.

After seeing Ban at the end of the episode, I have to agree with you.

Still, SPD fell apart big time if this is the case.

Dekaranger is a police based Super Sentai show set in 2004 (during America's Dino Thunder).

SPD stands for Special Police Dekaranger (aka Tokusou Sentai Dekaranger, which is what the show is originally called).

Aliens are hidden more carefully and have human identies, while others, like Doggie Crueger and various other higher level SPD officers retain their human forms.

In SPD, they capture criminals and turn them into cards while in Dekaranger, they judge the MotW using their SP license. THe judgement goes to the courthouse at the edge of the universe to make the call...if it's 'X' they can delete, or completely destroy, the criminal.

I'm actually watching Dekaranger and its quite fun...

Ban is the leader of the Dekarangers. He's hot blooded and ready to go. He uses his D-Magnum's to fight using Juu Kun Do, or Way of the Gun, combining both his martial arts and gunfire. He is DekaRed.

Hoji is the second in command of the group. Serious and smart, he at first seems arrogant, but at a closer glance, he has a good heart. He is the group's super sniper, able to shoot at just about anything with his gun. He is DekaBlue

Sen is the groups "Outside the Box" thinker. He is an eccentric person, who is able to think much better when he goes into his "Thinking Pose" which has him hanging himself upside. He is DekaGreen.

Jasmine is the groups talented cop and will not allow ANY culprits to escape from her. Jasmine is the psychic of the group, able to read things or peoples mind as long as she's touching the item (or touching the same item the person is touching.). She wears gloves to keep her power in check. She is DekaYellow.

Umeko is an energetic personality and is a bit ditzy. She claims herself to be the group's "Field Commander". She seems to love taking bubble baths with her rubber ducks. She is DekaPink.

Tetsuo was trained from a young age by SPD. He uses a style of Kempo called Seiken Accel Blow ("Justice Fist Acceleration Blow"), a style used by Elite SPD officers to deal with Alienizers using their Brace Throttles. He is DekaBreak.

MoB, I would instantly recommend Shinkenger.

Goseiger is good and fun with a surprising twist towards the end...

Go-onger is a goofy, but fun show to watch.

I never bothered with Gekiranger honestly.

I'm also watching Gaoranger and Magiranger, but I can't say much about them really...

Well, I had Zyuranger, Hurricanger, Shinkenger, Abaranger and Dekaranger on my line up, but I'll take your advice.

But I don't think I'll watch Go-onger, I mean...Those costumes... and those zords.

Zyuranger isn't fully subbed...You could watch up to, I believe, 31 subbed and the rest raw.

Your other choices look good really.

The zord formations do get a LITTLE out there as well as clusterfucked, but each of the zords have their own soul and personality by the way of Engine Souls. The Zords, once on earth, seperate into an Engine Cast (their body) and their Engine Soul (their soul). When they are combined they can only last in that form for 5 minutes (TV show time).

The Engines combine pretty well with each of the Go-ongers personalities.

Once again, Go-onger is a silly show with jokes galore, but it's a decent series.

The villians from it actually CARE for one another...they laugh, they drink, they play games...hell they even CRY when one of them dies....

You meant the Trumpet? 'Cause Basco's morpher's keyhole has been sealed shut, so he had to find an alternate way to use the keys he had.
