Looking for a Movie

A friend has asked me to help track down a movie for her.. Unfortunately, she hasn't given me much to go on.. So I'm hoping that someone here can help me..

Here's all the info about it that she could remember..

the only thing i can remember about it is
it's a sci fi
human vs some alien race
the human fighters are old planes with gattling gun type barrels for the nose
not old planes really
they are space fighters that look like someinth outa WW2
oh and they have other fighters that loook like modern fighter jets
it wasn't a big movie
humans vs an slien race
i think the aliens are going after earth
after attacking colonies and a war and such
oh and they have some unique space drive system thingy
i think they use gravity wells and special computers
umm how old...
no clue
but.
older than...
couple years anyways
older than 2006
mabye older than 2004

I'm sorry that this isn't much.. But this was all I could get out of her. Any help would be greatly appreciated :help: :help: :help:

The only thing that comes to mind is Wing Commander.

This one is an anime. Its about a world that was destroyed by giant fire giant things. There are giant insects and the ground is poisonous. It stars a girl who's village is attacked? or something and she leaves. There are giant slug insects with golden feelers/tentacles. And some sort of prophecy about a girl walking on a golden field.

Does anyone remember the title?

I am looking for yet another movie, this one about the origins of Santa Claus.

Its animated. It tells the story of how a fairy found a little baby and adopted it as her own. There was a secret society of fairy. And there were some kind of goblin/rock things that were at war/odds with them. Eventually, Santa left his home. There was often this little cat/goblin/shapeshifting thing that was his friend. Said got a group of the fae to make Santa's house in secret. It also shows how they get his sleigh and reindeer to fly. Eventually, at the end of his life, the fairy court gets together and grants him immortality in the form of a blanket that goes over him just in time to stop death.

This was on Cartoon Network a couple of years ago if that helps at all.

Does anyone know the name of a 2015 film about 2 girls, convicted of murder years earlier and now free, who become suspects after a teen girl is abducted and murdered?

I saw it was on Starz recently, and I forgot the title. It seemed to draw inspiration from the murder of James Bulger.
