A freash thread for Ranma/Negima Madness

For the snippets of Chapters 1-8 just check out this thread: Previous parts (and the commentary with them)

Let the fun begin...

Chapter 9

Ranma and Ranko strolled down the road home; they walked side by side in silence. Ranko was once again in her school uniform passing curious glances to her male half. Ranma had his hands in his pockets baring an expression somewhere between unsure and annoyance, his right cheek was a dull red.

"Look, I'm sure she didn't mean it that way."

"No I think she made her point pretty clearly."

"We can straighten this out, tomorrow in clas-"

"No. This will work out just fine." He closed his eyes. "I'll play the bad guy here and then you can still intermingle without raising any suspicious. I'm sure Eva will agree with me on this one."

"I guess so." they both fell silent again. "We're both talkin' funny again aren't we?"

"Yeah I noticed, we've been separated a long while today what with that party and then getting 'inducted' into the anti-vamp squad."

"Ironic right?" They both shared a small chuckle.

"I should probably dismiss you here,"

"Probably, but we're already this far it's not much further to get home. With all the memories you'll likely need to lay down pretty quickly." The male Saotome nodded at the logic.

"If anything it has been eventful."

"You have NO idea." Ranko muttered some pink tingling her cheeks. Ranma raised an eyebrow at that but didn't immediately respond. He moved his walking path over and casually bopped his female half on the back of the head. "OW! What did you do that for jerk?"

"I told you not to do anything embarrassing."

"I didn't! It was that stupid Weasel thing."

"Riiight." he received an elbow to the side.

"Jerk. I take it back you deserved that slap." she stuck out her tongue to which he returned.

"Brat." The pair continued along is slightly better spirits. A little fight could go a long way sometimes. Though as Ranma turned his eyes up to the sky his mind continued to echo.

~~
"No, I'm not gonna to let you get yourself pactioed. You should leave the fights to the fighters!

"But Negi-kun needs my help, if he doesn't get a partner something awful might happen to him."

"Just like it could to you!"

A sharp crack from an unexpected source disoriented him for a short moment, his cheek stinging. Turning sharply to Asuna who wielded a burning glare.

"We're not your property Ranma, You can't tell us what to do. I don't need you protecting me."

Those words brought an unfamiliar rise and a scowl to his face. He'd never let himself get angry with a friend but there was a first time for anything.

"That's how you see it huh? Keh. Fine, Get up Ranko we're leaving."

"Ranma Please cal-"

"No I'm obviously not wanted here. Come on."

"Hey don't take the girl, she's a good fighter. She'd make a great pactio partner for Aniki!" the ermine spoke up getting a burning glare in return.

"You'd better not get within ten feet of my cousin. Got it vermin!' he hadn't realized at the time, the concerned and scared expressions of those in the room. He had just left pulling Ranko behind him as he slammed the door behind.

~~

The pigtailed boy gave a frustrated sigh as the apartment building came into sight. Not that things hadnÆt been complicated before but by throwing his little tantrum he made things ten times worse. ôIÆm such an idiot.ö he scaled the steps to the building a step behind Ranko.

ôYup.ö

ôOi, donÆt agree to that so readily.ö he grumbled ignoring the smug grin on the girls face as she trotted up the stairs. On the second floor Ranko had stopped looking to the door of Mana and SayoÆs apartment.

ôShould we stop by?ö

ôNah, IÆm beat. IÆd think you would be to considering.ö Ranma puts his hands behind his head. ôBesides weÆre already overàö

ôI rested in the room,ö Ranko leaned forward on the railing. ôIf weÆre already over then itÆs okay if I go say hi right? I know youÆd go if you werenÆt tired.ö she clasped her hands. ôJust a minute okay?ö Ranma held the red headÆs gaze for a moment before rolling his eyes.

ôFine, IÆm going to dismiss you in twenty minutes I donÆt care where you are when I do it.ö Ranma yawned a little and continued on up listening to Ranko knock on the apartment door. He shook his head as he unlocked his own door to the house. He didnÆt put too much thought into his action moving through the darkened apartment in a daze going through his pre-bed ritual. The whole place quiet save for his own soft footsteps. He slipped into his futon and stared up to the ceiling. In the shadows he could see AsunaÆs burning gaze, NegiÆs shamed expression, and KonokaÆs flinch of fear.

ôWhy of all peopleàö he didnÆt finish his thought, it was a pointless question the obstacles to his cure had been set. He just needed to surpass them. But the real question was could he?

Ranma glanced to the clock by the bed noting the time. ôThatÆs twentyàö he grasped his pendent and focused. For a moment he tasted something sweet. ôHmà someone made cookies.ö was the last coherent thought before he was flooded with flashing images, a cacophony of sound and a feeling of his head but ripped in half. He screamed and all went mercifully black.

The room had darkened with the coming of night; Konoka still lay awake in her bed. Above slept Asuna, though annoyed with Ranma's attitude had managed to find sleep easy enough. Even Negi had managed to fall asleep on the couch... though his whimpers and sleep talk were a testament he was having less then stellar dreams. But no sleep seemed to come from the fledgling mage.

I'm sorry Oujo-sama but I fall into the same camp as Saotome on this issue. As your bodyguard I refuse to let you throw yourself into a dangerous situation such as this. I am sure sensei can find a more capable partner."

"Secchan." Konoka hugged her spare pillow tightly. Everyone was trying to protect her... it was always that way for the longest time. But this wasn't about her. She turned over to the young mage twisting on the Couch.

"no... stay away...stop it..." he murmured lightly. No doubt if she watched long enough she could probably catch him sleep walk over and climb up to Asuna's bed. She turned her gaze back to the bed above.

"A more capable partner..." The blankets shifted and light footsteps crossed the length of the room. Another shifting of blankets and Negi's whimpering lessened, the boy fell into a deeper sleep clinging on to the warm body. An arm curled around his smaller frame... it was only in his sleep he'd allow himself to be a child.

"Onee-chan..."

"That's right..." Konoka hugged the boy closely as she shifted to a more comfortable position on the couch. "Onee-chan is here." she whispered softly. "I'll do the protecting this time." She closed her eyes focusing on his rhythmic breathing, lulling herself into a deeper sleep. Perched on the railing of the loft storage Chamo looked down to the couch, he smiled widely at the sight... it was better then he could ever have hoped...

end snippet

Ranma goes over the limit and deals with the consequences... Konoka seems to want a class change from 'princess' to 'knight'. Though Not sure how please Ranma or Setsuna would be with that. Negi has more support but also more pressure. Things can only go madder from here... *takes a deep breath* Mm... love that new thread smell...

Don't think they'll be happy.

But, you know, Konoka *does* have a forceful side to her. If it came down to it, she'd basically say "QUIET! *I* chose to be Negi's partner! Not him! Not Chamo! And *NOT* Asuna! *I* did! If you two wanna protect me, that's fine, but for once, I wanna protect someone too!"

Or something to that effect.

Once again, dun dun dun.

Ranma seems to be shifting back and fourth through emotional extremes(going from concern to "obstacles"), that can't be remotely healthy. Looks like things are starting to escalate.

Me thinks Asuna is overreacting at this point but then again....

Saotome foot in mouth syndrome. Is there a cure? Anyone?

Ah. New thread smell. :cumdrool:

Don't pay attention. I feel a little high right now.

And so the new thread beigins. Let the comments fly!

Ok, so Asuna can take care of herself. Amzingly ironic, since she was wondering a while ago why Ranma didn't show the same kind of attention to her that he shows Konoka. She should have been flattered but I guess hse's too much of a tomboy to do so, and I guess the emotions were running high.

A good idea would be for Ranko to discover the letter instead of Asuna. It would give her a reason to just go berserk, seeing as Chamo is just using this to make money. I can understand the situation with his sister (other ermine), but that doesn't mean Ranma has to accept the subterfuge that Chamo displayed.

Eventually Konoka will just override Setsuna. Even if you don't write it now, I just know that scene wil come. Nanya got that down pat.

Chamo probably thinks It's a good opportunityto try and pactio Negi and Konoka, but it won't be if he tries so on Ranko. You do *not* sit next to a sleeping martial artist and not expect him/her to smack you.

Ranma falls a bit more into madness seeing as he's talking to himself. He'll have to let go. It won't change their opinion.

By the way, you have a sentence to fix:

You not to get with in ten feet of my cousin
EDIT: Stay away from my cousin.

ive really been enjoying this but i thought i should mention that the it looks like ranko and ranma are becoming two different people as opposed to the same person separated into two bodies and different genders :huh.: :huh.:

Hmmm... is there a reason the scenes jump so much, it almost seems like there should be at least one more scene at end of 8 before this. Like how Ranma got there to be slapped.

PCHeintz72 - He was already in the room when Chamo made his enterance it happened shortly after Chamo gave his canon story of why Negi is his "brother" (which as you know I try not to rewrite scenes that will go verbatim.) More details will be filled in but what I've shown basically covers what happened. Chamo spoke of hoe Negi's sister sent him to help Negi find a partner (a lie) and Konoka volunteered though a panicked Ranma took exception to that as the flash back revealed. I was aiming for an interesting went to tell that, sorry if it was confusing.

aragorn55 - Perhaps *whistles innocently*

Seed00 - Yes, Asuna is a very self reliant girl (canon) and likes to make her own decisions. It is mostly a minor burst of temper against Ranma ,who as you can see tends to be a bit controlling when it comes to his friends. Asuna can be quick to anger but she is just as quick to forgive and will no doubt apologize for hitting him but not for wanting to have her own decision. Ranma though may brood over it a bit more... hard to say.

Cool idea but Ranko would likely not be in the dorm and thus not find the letter. Besides if I keep taking things away from Asuna she will fall even further from being a main character... though that in itself could be a bit interesting if unlikely.

Indeed

He's not going to put a circle up while their sleeping... but that is very tempting. He wants Negi to think this is the best way to do things so that he will vouch for Chamo then the shit storm chasing the ermine catches up.

Yes, Ranma is going a bit more loopy... he went 'over the limit' and thus the divergence is wider and both act a bit more independent from each other... wide enough to cause him a lot of pain when he recombines.

Muramasa - yes they're both somewhat at fault but they are volatile people.

Darkforce222 - the obstacles comment was more of a general reference then his real impression of the situation. but he is showing much more of his 'broken' interior then before.

Nanya - not they won't be.

Verily, Konoka will put the foot down and up the tension a bit more. Her pactio will likely be when she thinks she can get it when no one is around to stop her. Post pactio things will be quite extreme... expect some tough love from Setsuna and a different Konoka shaping up.

General note.
I'm a little disappointed no one commented on the random last though Ranma have before the mental assault. I thought it was funny after all the dark and seriousness. it also implies that either Sayo or Mana made cookies.

Hmmm... then Ranma could ask Asuna just who is treating others as property, if he did do it, that is.

I'm a little disappointed no one commented on the random last though Ranma have before the mental assault. I thought it was funny after all the dark and seriousness. it also implies that either Sayo or Mana made cookies.
Huh... I noted it, but not think it needed to be commented on. Figuring it was not an important point.

Now that I think on it though... was it not mentioned Mana did not cook, as she was surprised Ranma did, or am I thinking of another character. Also, should Sayo be trusted in a kitchen, it is not like she has needed to cook in last 40 years, and things have changed a bit. (microwaves, recipies, electronic utilities and microwaves).

On the other hand, does the off campus housing have partial kitchenettes, or full kitchens. I ask as I know the on campus housing, in 2nd anime series, has partial kitchenettes, not full kitchens, and thus are ill equiped for baking (class rep did have a toaster). I looked back at the 2nd episode of first series, and it looks even less, just some cabinents off to the side.

EDIT: It likely would have to be Mana, attempting to impress Ranma/Ranko. How good they are would be questionable, given even at start of canon Ranma before Akane built up his tolerance, he was described by Ganma as having a cast iron stomache.

EDIT2: Further thought, I;m kind of surprised the pactio process does not bother him more than it seems. Not due to the kiss supposedly needed, but the process itself. Would it not in point of fact be a form of using others powers to use in their fights, much like he was used. It can be argued the pactio process uses their powers much like a battery.

it was Setsuna that was stated to not cook (or at least not be a good cook). But Yes Ranma is known for being able to eat most things (as long as there not akane level bad) without much issue. As that be fit survivial. The dorm rooms do have partial kitchens in the manga. Konoka often cooks breakfast for herself Negi and Asuna.

Your making too much of an assumption I think. A pactio's power if voluntary and marked with a contact between two people, one can not give or take energy without the other's willingness. the minstra also gains an artifact for their own personal use as part of the does not draw from the mage's power.

A battery is almost always formed with a user and a victim. the user can draw power unrestricted as much as they want even to the point of injury and the battery can do nothing in opposition.

Well... I was thinking more from Ranma's view than my own view. But were a pactio to be made while the other party was sleeping, it strikes me as being a sort of using and even a borderline violation.

However, what gave me the idea was not so much how pactios are in the first TV series, but the second TV series, which I'm up to episode 8.

It works different in that show, as it is multi stage, and based on three cards, not one. Personally, the setup seems stupid, given the near worthless cosplay card.

But one thing came across clearly in the second series pactio process that was seemingly ignored first series. Each person, once activated, even pretty much standing still, is using power. That power is rapidly used up, and once used, the person reverts to normal, and a near unconcious and depleted energy state, immediately needing either food or sleep.

That, combined with your prior battery comments, and Asunas comment on property to Ranma, and the comments here on doing a pactio while a party is asleep. Gave me the thought.

6-_- the second anime series is a total AU and a poor one in my opinion. The Pactio system being one of the main reasons aside from the "comedy" and Character changes. I guess after seeing 200 plus chapters of character development such shallow characterizations just piss me off...

Yes I do agree that Ranma would see a pactio formed while one side was a asleep as a BIG punishment worthy no no. I plan to make no such pactios in this series. There wil be enough drama going about anyway heh.

Konoka is going out and making her own decisions... Good for her. ^_^ I see absolutely no problems with the characterisation on that - IIRC she said pretty much exactly that at some point in the manga or one of the anime; I can't recall which. It's a lot earlier in the timeline, but then again this time around she already has the whole "why won't Setsuna talk to me?" thing worked out which means that she won't need to do so during the Kyoto arc (unless something else happens, of course).

And on Pactio... Yeah. It's a lot more forgiving than any kind of battery system, especially with the provisionary pactio kind that's been used in the series so far. Neither partner can transfer energy without the consent of the other party, although apparently the mage -can- summon his partners to him without their consent. On the other hand, the partner doesn't need the mage in order to access their artifact and both sides can communicate telepathically without needing any sort of energy transfer. I think it's been implied that both sides -can- borrow the other's power without consent in a full-fledged pactio, but then again such a bond would also imply complete trust that neither partner would do so unless there's a very good explanation for it.

Asuna... might actually volunteer for being Negi's partner at this rate. She's almost as stubborn as Ranma himself, really, and she's used to making her own way. If she gets the idea that this would be the best way to keep Negi (and also the rest of her non-magically-aware friends) safe, she'd do it in a heartbeat. The moment Chamo understands that, she'll be a pactio partner for sure. Not that he won't pay for that after Asuna finds out about the whole pactio broker fees thing, but still.

Looking forward to more as always. :hail:

Arcomage - aye, though the pactios rarely go smoothly... I'll just say this. There will definately be more thne one paction in this chapter.

Snippet!
The next day came and emotions cooled from the night previous. Asuna was feeling a little guilty of her rather knee jerk reaction to Ranma's demands. As much as she disagreed, she had no right to strike him. Negi awoke to a totally different bedtime companion and to a promise he had not expected...

Konoka wanted to partner with him; fully knowing of the issue he was about to face. She had no form of combat training and minimal magic experience extending to self-taught cantrips. Though Chamo said that there was an aspect to the pactio that could swing things in her favor the boy mage still felt uneasy about picking her. Besides running full tilt alongside hundreds of girls probably wasn't the best time to talk about magic issues. The usual waiting spot was already occupied by Mana and Sayo adding, a further reason to end all partner talk as the pair began to match pace.

"Good morning Sensei."

"Morning Konoka-chan! Asuna-san"

"Good morning girls... Where is Ranko-san?"

"Ranko is not feeling well, it seems her headaches were acting up more then usual. She's laid up in bed for the day." Sayo said with a clearly concerned tone, Asuna shook her head.

"I keep telling her to get that looked at."

"Headaches?" Negi seemed a little out of the loop. That little detail had not shown up on her records.

"Ranko has gotten chronic headaches usually a little bit everyday. Sometimes more then others." Konoka explained as she glided in tune with her more athletic classmates. "Sometimes after a particularly hard day she has to stay home. We should stop by there after class to cheer her up."

"Yeah!" Sayo cheered. "I know Ranko would appreciate that, I haven't visited as often as I would have liked to so it must be getting lonely in that apartment."

"Her cousin is away again?" Negi frowned. "Even at a time like this?" the former spirit jumped a little.

"What? Ah No! Ranma came back as soon as he heard about it." her tone was a little rushed but Mana smoothed things over.

"But he does have to work to pay for most of the apartment since Ranko is a student. He can't always be home when he would like," she explained in a much more rational tone.

"Oh," the young teacher blinked, things made a little more sense in that route. "Doesn't her parents offer any support?"

"She doesn't have any." Negi turned his eyes to Asuna who had her eyes steadfastly ahead.

"Eh?"

"She's an orphan, technically Ranma is her guardian but even he's too young to fill the role officially. I'm not sure who sponsors her but the both of them decided to work things out on their own instead of asking for help."

"I...I had no idea..."

"Hey!" He jumped as Asuna grabbed his collar roughly, locking eyes with him. "Don't you start to pity her, if she sees you act like that your just going to get her mad at you. They may only be cousins but their very close and they both work hard. You got that?"

"Y-yeah." he felt the pressure let go and Asuna picked up the pace a little more pulling ahead. Konoka kept even pace with her sensei leaning down and coasting a bit on her skates.

"Asuna can get a little protective sometimes," she whispered cheerfully. "And Ranko-chan is a somewhat of a special case."

"Oh?"

"Mm hm." Konoka offered a simple smile. "Because she reminds Asuna of herself." Negi turned his eyes to his other roommates back as she kept a steady pace just in front of them. Seemingly no different then usual but a close eye revealed her fists clenched a little tighter and her shoulder tense. All in concern of her friend...

You better be okay

1234321

Ranko lay in bed unfortunately conscious as her head pounded like a jackhammer. The memories were taking their sweet time unraveling. It was going to be one of those days.

"It hurts to think." she muttered in annoyance rolling over and trying to go back to sleep. At least then she would be able to ignore the pain as her mind processed the information overload. A light rumble brought a groan of annoyance to her mouth. This just wasnÆt her day. She grabbed her pendent and after a moment a naked Ranma appeared crouched at her side. The oppressive headache seemed to lessen a little, at least enough to think more clearly. The boy groaned rubbing his head.

"Thanks for sharing."

"Shut up." The girl grumbled, "It's just for a minute or two so I can get something to eat." The pigtailed girl sat up, hair mussed and sticking up at odd angles. She got to her feet, a little wobbly but steadying after a few steps. Leaving her other half she shuffled her way into the kitchen and set to making a light breakfast to settle her stomach enough to get some sleep.

"Don't take too long Eva may ask us to split at the meeting tonight."

"Yeah yeah, I've gotten that much of last night straightened out... though all of you.. The memories from the pool are getting distracting."

"what? it's not like I couldn't look... besides their all cute girls." Ranma argued from the doorway gaining a light flush and absent nod from his 'cousin'. The details were still fuzzy but the clearer that night became the more uncomfortable it was making her feel. It wasn't that she hadn't noticed how attractive her classmates were but after being with so many of them for years and following her strict codes to avoid looking at them in compromising conditions she could easily keep it from her mind. Though the bathing suits gave little to the imagination and though it was still fuzzy she knew that it was still going to be worse.

"oh man..." she banged her head lightly on the counter. "How am I going to be able to look at them again? Maybe I should call in sick tomorrow too?" she muttered sitting back up and rubbing her head. "Ow... Also, hitting my head when I already have a headache it not one of my better ideas." The ringing phone caught her attention, glad for a distraction.

"I got it." Ranma's voice called up from the other room. Finishing up her meal she sat down to eat hearing the muffled conversation in the other room. A click was followed by a light curse as Ranma peeked out of the bedroom.

"what now? I don't like that look..."

"Well that was Mana, it seems that were going to be having some visitors tonight."

"Hm? Well that ain't so bad."

"Two being Asuna and Negi-sensei." it took a moment for that to process in her muddled mind.

"Damn it..." If those two were coming by then that would complicate things. "Eva'll be pissed if I don't show up in person."

"The eat fast, you donÆt want to waste too much time. I'll play sick here well you go deal with her. I'll give you a call after they leave so you can know when to dismiss."

"Sounds good." she sighed and shook her head. "Damn curse... always making everything so hard." she grumbled as she dug in to finish quickly... had to save as much time as she could.

end snippet

It seems Ranma needs to be in two places at once again, splitting timw with the two factions but this can only complicate things more. Asuna showing her ranma-esque protective streak (no wonder they butt heads) and There is liekly to be some more look into Eva's preperations.

This wording bothered me, she is feeling guilt, but thought it ok she hit him? It reads as a double negative.

being with some many of them
'some' s/b 'so'

"What? Ah No! Ranma came back as soon as he heard about It."
'It' s/b 'it'

Hm, that's not what it sounds like when I read that line... to me is sounds like she still disagrees with what he says but she feels guilty about slapping him on a knee jerk reaction.

fixed the others though thanks.

My opinion this time is that with the way they'll have to stay separate, the more they'll get headaches. From what I saw, it only settles when they recombine, but now Ranma/Ranko has to be at two places at once even more than usual.

Won't that eventually create an alternate personality?

Ah... then I think you need another comma, or a comma and split the sentance. How about:

Asuna was feeling a little guilty of her rather knee jerk reaction to Ranma's demands. As much as she disagreed, she had no right to strike him.

Hmmm... I had thought it already has. The way they talk sometimes, and the noted arguing that upsets Setsuna so much, would seem to imply it at least.

Sure I slip that intot the snippet to make my message clearer.

Yes, Ranma tends to 'talk to himself' which most take in stride but only Setsuna really finds unnerving, though sayo does pass a sweatdrop here and their. But seed is correct, the more apart they are the more memories are crated and if not given proper time to absorb then all it tends to build... you can usually tell when Ranma is most messed up or over the limit when his conversations with himself sound more like two different people.

Right now the duplicate is more like 'hearing voices' then a full split as they are still very much Ranma himself... though going over the limit puts more stress on his mind and furthers the gap leading to each version having different thoughts or wants.

Asuna's protective nature is one of her better qualities, so it's always nice to see it in action. Seems that both sides have cooled down some.

Ranma talking to himself could easily be his way of coping with lonliness(considering he always had Genma and later, Sayo, I don't think he's quite used to being on his own for any length of time), but I could be reading too much into it.

Hm, so the more different the moods/memory/etc are of Ranma/Ranko, and the longer this condition lasts, the more difficulty they have fusing back together? It makes sense. Considering Ranma and Ranko were on opposite sides of the emotional spectrum and were pushing the limit on fusion time it's a wonder he can see straight.

Great stuff, as usual.

Yo Ryogas, can Negi push to have Ranko stay at the girl's dorm if he thinks that Ranma isn't properly taking care of her? That would just make the headaches worse.

Now Chamo has a habit of being there when not needed, is he going to spy around Ranma's apartment even though he warned him of what he would do?

I'm not too happy with Sayo though. She's living her new life, that's granted but she doesn't visit much anymore? Negative brownie points.

hmmm...You know, if or when you get to the part that Ranma and Ranko truly 'separate' (with Ranma still having the curse though from what I can recall) then I get this odd feeling of Ranko being a Lesbian now. (since after all, her mind started off as male and such so she should like girls)

Which would really have the Setsuna/Konoka fans screaming at you (I'm not one of them as I just can't see them paired off like that without what seems to me a decent reason...stupid rabid lesbian lovers) to make it some kind of Setsuna/Ranko/Konoka pairing.

Was this discussion talked about ready? I forget quite easily at times.

Then again since this is going by way of the Manga and not the Anime, (along with it's supposed alternative manga) then I'm kind of glad about it as having Setsuna as mostly a lesbian was really annoying as it took away from what her JOB was, (a Bodyguard for Konoka) their friendship along with their past and turned it into some odd shit that leads on towards thoughts that leaves you wishing that it didn't exist. (Example: Naruto and Harry Potter Yaoi Fanfics with MPreg)

I'm rambling along so I'll shut up and wait for the next piece.

Personally, I thought that too easy for a calm down.

Ranma in canon at least is shown not to hold grudges.

But Asuna can be stubborn... also, I once read a study that showed women hold grudges on average longer than men.

But oh well...

Such pushing for it would get absolutely nowhere, considering the Headmaster/Principal would have to revoke the approval for Ranma to have lived off campus. Doubtful he would do so all things considered.

Heh... one thing has kind of been puzzling me in this story I was never ble to pin down I finally figured out. If the girls live in student housing on campus, and Ranma/Sayo and now Mana live off campus, why the heck does Negi/Asuna/Konoka/Setsuna come by their place in the morning on the way to school? It should logically be the other way around. Oh well.

The streets were designed by one of Ryoga Hibiki's relatives.
