Hehe, looks promising. Mana in a bikini with a BFG in her hands. Setsuna staring at Konoka's bikini-clad ass. Negi in a breast-hold by Paru-sama, Class Rep, Chisame and Kaede...

Some of the characters look a bit off. Evangeline doesn't look quite right and Nodoka too seems not quite right, but what the heck. As the level of fanservice doesn't seem to have decreased, indeed it almost looks as an increase, I'll watch it anyway... :)

Ahhh, the memories... :)

One gets spoiled pretty darn fast, these days I curse the slowness of the transfer if it goes below 400 kilobytes/second. Which is pretty astounding, because my first modem was a 300 bit/second speedy little bugger, so one would think that I would be used to snailpace.

But after a couple of years where I only have to use dialup out at the cabin or when visiting my folks, I seem to have completely forgotten ( Or repressed the memories of it, perhaps? ) the sort of speeds I started out with.

I wish I could repress my memories of this shit. They won't even TRY to offer DSL or Broadband or any other form of high speed internet out here. At all. And the closest place to us that DOES get high speed internet pays three digits a month.

I read somewhere that the character design for the OAV is different from the TV version, so you would notice the level of both fanservice and animation quality change (improve?)

Seems like theyre taking the manga story arc of vacation on Ayaka(Iincho)'s private island... (book 7... I believe)

Heheheh... downloaded this already from Alpha-Zulu's livejournal. Veeery interesting, and although the artstyle is somewhat... so-so, in my opinion, It's far superior to the first anime.

Supposedly "Negima!?" is going to be more "family friendly", so I doubt we'll be seeing as much fanservice as beauties like Mana deserve >:|

Family friendly... I highly doubt it :snigger:

Even from the manga we get all kinds of fanservice, im surprized the U.S. translation by Del Rey/Ballantine decided to leave in concepts like 'paipan' :p and all the breast jokes.

Heh, the last time I tried downloading something that large, I set up the connection at night and promptly went to bed. <_<

The Japanese idea of "family friendly" is far different (and superior!) to the American's idea of it. You'll see your fan service. ^^;;

And we know how notorious Akamatsu is with fanservice :hail:

Tho I get the feeling that the OAV is going to be either a oneshot deal, or (hopefully) a series of random chapters from the manga.

Mana's BFG... it looked more like a 'pineapple' launcher to me :snigger:

Is it just me or is the Setsuna-Nodoka yuri love more implied in the anime than in the manga? :unsure:

And the 'marshmellow sandwich' was by Paru (Haruna), Iincho (Ayaka), Kaede and Chizuru (the motherly one, not Chisame the hacker), still Negi shouldnt fear the boob press THAT much ;)

Just to clarify some things. The OVA is a one-shot, barely related to the first TV series continuity, but still following the manga.

And there is Negima!? (notice the "?"), a TV series that will start October 6th, at 6:00 p.m., on TV Tokio. This is the one that will be family friendly. It is going to be an AU, with only the characters and locations being the same.

The production for the TV series is by SHAFT. The director is Akiyuki Shinbo, and the chara design is by Kazuhiro Ota.

The art style is quite interesting. I actually like it, and . As for the amount of fanservice...whoa...I'm definitely going to like the OVA, as will everybody else who has posted in this topic. Interesting, though, that Asuna's eyes are now the same colour.

Oh, and I just have to mention this - Mana's using a Franchi SPAS12 shotgun. It's not exactly a BFG (or a fucking anti-aircraft gun, to that matter), but it is quite a beefy looking weapon regardless. I don't know why, but I just wanted to say that.

Isn't her eye color one of the defineing things about her character? Thats a rather odd thing to change.

Pfft, I own a 10 gauge shotgun. Its a 9 pound, single shot tube of death. she fire 3.5 inch, copper coated steel T-shot, which Is designed for geese hunting but mainly finds use here against turkey.

On a completly different note, I've nevers een any of the negima anime. I'm only up to Vol 11 of the manga, so i've been trying to avoid spoilage.

Setsuna-Nodoka is, as far as i've read, not even hinted at. Nodoka has been pretty devoted to Negi crush wise since day one, but thats about it for her romantic involvment.

Now, Setsuna-Konoka is hinted at, and a few of the characters poke fun at that a few times.

Setsuna and Nodoka hardly relate to each other beyond having pactios with Negi. I'm pretty sure EagleCeres was referring to Setsuna-Konoka, which is, as Antimatter said, quite canon.

I love it when Konoka implies that she wouldn't mind a generous helping of Secchan with her Negi, and Setsuna in turn nearly loses her mind. ^_^

Which volume was that in? I can't remember.

I DO remember the scene in Volume 7 though when Konoka runs up to Negi (dragging Setsuna along) and questions him about pactios, stating that she was considering making one with Setsuna and that while she "didn't mind the kissing" route, Setsuna was wondering if there was another method of forming one.

Argh. It'd be a hell of a task to search through 140-plus chapters just to pin down a single instance.

I'm pretty sure it happened, but either way, Konoka implies it throughout. She's got an "I wouldn't mind if it was Negi" attitude, and the yuri overtones between Konoka and Setsuna are hard to ignore. It's harem in spirit, with Konoka at the center!

It did happen. Konoka wanted to do a pactio with Setsuna, but Setsuna refused the kiss.

Something among the lines of:

"I would have done a pactio with Set-chan, but she didn't want to kiss.* or something like that.
