Mental Disorders.

I don't know if this is really appropriate, but what the hell.:huh.:

Well, after struggling through the hellhole that is known as the icelandic mental health system I finally got diagnosed.

I apparently have ADD, Asperger Syndrome and a social anxiety disorder.

Frankly, I knew I was fucked up in the head, but I had no idea.

And the fucked up thing? All shrinks are on vacation throughout July and August, god I hate this country.

I would really appreciate some advice if some of you have any experience with this, because right now I'm fucking confused.

Play EVE. You're Icelandic. You'll meet people that make your problems seem tame.

You think you're messed up? I have PDD-NOS (not enough evidence for a diagnosis of Asperger's), PTSD, and panic disorder

I guess I got off lucky with a mild case of ADD, a moderate case of ADHD, slightly obssesive compulsive, and I'm a kleptomaniac.

The last one has gotten me into lots of trouble.

I don't dare go to a psychiatrist. They're expensive....

So why is this thread in this section of TFF?

It should be in the Rants section. You have been a member for long enough to know that.

There's this phenomenon in physics called relativity. As you've been diagnosed a little genius, try to make faster-than-light travel feasible, will you?

Yeah, I was pretty confused at the time, sorry about that.

So sorry, my area is computers and languages. :p

I would like eternal life rather then lightspeed though.

My math is pretty horrible.

Look at this in terms of traits.

ADD-- Easily distracted. You're good at multitasking, I bet, because that holds your attention in enough different places. Look at all the great geroes who've had ADD/HD-- Naruto, Cloud, Sora, Yusuke, Yugi, Goku, Son Goku... the list goes on for a long time.

Asperger's-- Besides sounding funny, basically translates to being kind of fixated, a little hesitant around people outside of your fix. There's a lot of data online about this and whether we will admit it or not, most of us are on this spectrum somewhere even if we don't fall within clinical guidelines.

Social anxiety syndrome-- Well so do most geeks. Just because you're a bit nervous in social waters is no flaw. Most people are, to an extent; it just takes a bit of practice and you'll do fine.

A bit nervous is putting it mildly.

Cold sweat, headaches, intense nervousness and dizzyness is what happens to me in when there a lot of people around me in a small room.

I also get snappy and annoyed quickly... Though that is probably just my immense dislike for humans in general.
