OK. I was walking around last night, and this idea struck me full on.
Firstly, move Bleach canon back about five years - the whole manga takes place in 1996, and Aizen bites the big one. Canon Bleach takes place on the same Earth as BtVS, which is how the next part takes place:
Aizen's death was something he had contingency plans in place for, though. Gin was sent to a little town called Sunnydale with a very special Kido and a very specific set of white robes
You can probably see where I'm going already.
Yeah. Gin kills Ethan and then plays the grinning shopkeeper, hiring out costumes for kiddies until a suitable host for Aizen's rebirth comes into the shop.
And when Xander Harris walks into the creepy man's web, we all know what happens. next:
"Po' boy. Looks like the last tin soldier jus' walked outta the box."
"Huh? Dude, you have one creepy face!"
"Hush up. I'm doin' you a favour. Want a cool costume?"
"Maybe. How much is it gonna cost?"
"It's cheap - the series it comes from ain't been licensed yet, so I was a little...uh...premature in getting the costume out."
"Who's the guy?"
"A Wizard named Aizen. Has a magic sword that makes illusions. I figure, swords are cool. Wizards are cool. It oughtta follow that Wizards with swords are extra-cool."
Yeah. Then Gin performs a Kido which turns everyone into their costumes for a night, where those costumes had been prepped properly.
Halloween night is interrupted by Gin and Tousen, who come from Hueco Mundo with a new Gigai for the temporary Aizen - they get him into that, they've got him back for good.
The fic can go two ways, from there.
Either:
Aizen Sousuke was a creation of time paradox, and had in fact always been Xander Harris. [There's a Nick Brendon pic where he's wearing Aizen glasses. It's on his Wiki page. I shit you not.]
As a result of the paradox, the real Xander is thrown backwards through time, and the Aizen!Xander cheats Death. Perhaps when they try to open a Garganta back to Las Noches, the null-space sucks Xander in. It satisfies the Bleach requirements of Aizen existing before Xander was ever born, and that's about all that matters.
Aizen, though, isn't worried. He remembers that happening to himself long ago. All he'll need is some time in Hueco Mundo to recharge his spiritual power. Then he can regather his surviving Arrancar an' get the drop on Seireitei. Nothing as dangerous as a dead man, after all.
So, now brought back to his true self, Xander returns with his subordinates to Las Noches and pwns Seireitei, becomes God, then pwns Hell - making Buffy and his old buds free to live that elusive 'Normal Life'. And him, not coincidentally, God.
Or:
Xander has been co-opted by Aizen's Nice-Guy act. As a reward for being a faithful subordinate, and furthering Aizen's ambitions, the last thing that Aizen does is stab the boy in the heart with Kyoka Suigetsu. Instant Shingami!Xander, with his own Kyoka Suigetsu and a headful of hypnotic teachings.
Xander's mission for Aizen is to kill the guardians of the King's Key - the Powers That Be.

I'll probably give this one a shot myself, when RL calms down a bit.
Thoughts?
EDIT: Slight reformat, added a couple of bold tags for effect. Nuthin' big.
