post-game and both expansion packs (esp. post-tribunal):
the nerevarine, leader of every single damn faction (from the tribunal temple to the imperial legion to the thieves guild) in the game, feels the pull of exploration.
but, exploring alone is kinda boring. So, he looks around for people in vvardenfell who might have an interest in vacating their chosen spots... such as the last living (since in my game I didn't kill him, and everything) former man-god of the Tribunal, Vivec.
now, in Oblivion it is stated that the Nerevarine has departed for the southern and kinda mysterious continent of Avakir, populated by all kinds of species (from draconic to simply odd)
and, hey, chronicles of the nerevarine & vivec traversing the unknown continent of avakir as they write letters (magically transported via spellwork, ~1 week until they get to vvardenfell) to one of my most favourite characters in the entire game, the very, very strange mage-lord of Tel Fyr, Divyath Fyr (come on, an archmage who LETS you steal from him, nad even encourages you to do so... if you can avoid the traps :-D)
basically, lots of letters from a former god-king and the most powerful mortal to walk the mortal realm to an all but immortal archmage who is bored and has nothing to do now that the patients of his dungeon-hospital are cured
first off: Vivec lives, because he's the only one who isn't dead and on the same level as the Nerevarine at the end of the game (read, all stats at 100, full daedric/ebony armor with enough enchantments to buy a country or two with) , and because I actually like the former god-king of the dunmer
second, Divyath Fyr is my hero. That guy is awesome, funny, and, with a cheap little trick, the only one who could give me a full set of Daedric armor ...
third, lots of writer's freedom. Everything from slightly singed letters with a hastily scrawled "Can't write much. Vivec woke some big-ass fire thing. Bye!" to an elaborate 25-page work from Vivec ("Why letting the Nerevarine cook for Avakir's natives is a bad idea and how to prevent it, Vol. I-IV") could be included.
Little is known about Avakir, and, hey, while both of the letterwriters are mortal now, I'm pretty sure that they're going to get very, very, very old unless they die in battle. Dunmer and all.
