A couple of links, so you know what I'm talking about:

IMHO, its well made, but really fycking DARK!! Persons of a sensitive nature should probably avoid watching/reading it.

It might be a good series to crossover with, for some of the same reasons that Evangelion is.

There's "dark", and then there's "people get murdered, yada yada, young girl gets a glass test tube jammed up her vag and broken, then proceeds to brutally murder everyone she knows, yada yada, THE WORLD ENDS dark".

Narutaru is a veritable carnival of Shit Gets Worse, Always.

Watched it once, mostly liked it, don't intend to watch it again. It did get too dark for my tastes at the end.

What I did NOT like, in retrospect, was that it starts out so light 'n fluffy. It showed many traits of a magical girl comedy: girl meets and bonds with magical animal, gains ability to fly and other powers, meets other children like herself, yada yada. It seemed like false advertising.

Well. Following those links, I see that others have said it better than I did.

The manga was awesomely dark. And yes, the ending seem a bit overboard, but not unexpected.
