1. Summoning an 8-tails-bordering-on-9-tails like Sayoko takes a ridiculous amount of chakra and

2. Naruto just got through the Shukaku fight (and the Neji fight, and the whole dying thing, and that other fight with that one ponce, and...) and is understandably tired

But Naruto has a Sayuri in him, and Kyuubis can do ANYTHING!

There are two more lilies in the shrine. Leaving it ungraded would be foolish, so Yurie is likely to be summoned.

On the other hand, if you leave Yurie there alone, nobody will be willing to come within a five-mile radius of the place.

Officially no one knows about Yurie, so it's unlikely that they have any idea why she should be avoided. As far as they know she was born without any kitsune affinities.

ôTheyàtheyÆre fighting something really amazing over there, arenÆt theyà?ö

Naruto was not sure why he had not moved from YurineÆs lap. Maybe it was just that comfortable. Yurine was in general a comfortable person to be with, with all her childishness. Gaara had been picked up by the other two Suna Genin, who probably did not attack him while he was down due to wariness around Yurine.

It did not really matter that they had taken Gaara away. He was not really a threat anymore. The real threat they could clearly see in the distance, so huge it was.

Naruto placed a hand on YurineÆs resting on his chest. The five-tails looked down at the boy, who had a serious expression.

ôYour hands, Yurine-chan.ö He squeezed them a little. They were cold. ôTheyÆre shaking.ö

ôUm,ö the fox-woman admitted with teary eyes, which drifted back to the monstrosity in the distance. The thing that made her body shiver uncontrollably.

ôIt scares you, that thing.ö

ôUm.ö Yurine nodded, blushing as if embarrassed of revealing that. It was a primal fear, not merely fear of the Void. After all, Yurine did not fear her half-Void daughter. Her feelings, they came from something else, something far more personal that the intimidating presence of Oblivion.

ôHaaàI see, I see,ö Naruto said, his expression lightening and changing into a placid smile. ôReally, youÆre so hopeless, Yurine-chan.ö

ôHawaaanàö Yurine whined adorably.

ôSo, no way around it, then!ö Naruto declared before finally getting off YurineÆs lap and shifting to a seated position. ôIf thereÆs an ugly monster thing scaring the cute Yurine-chan, then I guess itÆs my job to get rid of it.ö

ôEhà?ö

Her heart stopped for a second. The thought of Naruto entering that battle, engaging that thing, it was painful and unacceptable. As a mother, as his friend, she could not tolerate the idea. But then again, her family was probably there, fighting that thingà

Her daughtersà

ôNoàö she whispered, a pitiful, hopeless plea. The boy was already on his feet, stretching his sore muscles and getting some warm up before reentering the fray. He had done quite a bit of fighting that day. While he longer could rely on a Kyuubi to supplement his chakra capacity, it was still large and quick to replenish.

ôAlright, we should get going,ö Naruto finally declared. ôThat thing, whatever it is, wonÆt get beaten by itselfùö

He was gone. In a cloud of white smoke.

ôàhawaa?ö

Her heart beat faster. She wanted to cry and bawl like a pitiful child. Her lips trembled and tears trailed down her round cheeks.

She was afraid, but no longer for herself.

Thankfully, the large figure of the Emissary could be seen over the tree line. So, with hesitating steps and an aching heart, Higashiyama Yurine hurried to find her loved ones.

*******

ôReally, how reckless can a person be?ö

Really close to where Yurine and Naruto had been resting, and getting closer by the second, a small young lady was being carried by an even smaller young lady. The conscious one of the two had spent the whole trip complaining to the empty air while the one in her arms rested and recovered.

ôYou broke the goddamn monument! I liked that thing!ö The twintailed little girl paused, her cheeks pouting as they gained a lovely red hue. ôIàhave good memories on that monumentàö

The girl harrumphed while she fixed her grip on the sleeping Yuria, former Higashiyama.

ôYou could have really died there if I hadnÆt grabbed you before the whole thing collapsed! So be grateful!ö

It did not sound as haughty as usual, coming from this girl.

ôDoes this mean I messed up this timeline? Was I supposed to let youùbut, youÆre alive in my time, soàugh, I donÆt get time travel. Anyway, I saved you, so be grateful!ö

One step, two steps; the girl refused to use Reinforcement, so she was struggling a little carrying person heavier than herself.

ôYou have to live, you knowà?ö She said. ôI always make fun of Papa and say all his stories are full of bullshit, but I really, really know, okayà? That you did all those amazing thingsàö

It was embarrassing to admit it, even if nobody was really listening.

ôSo, you have to live, Yuria-sama. Besidesàö She made an expression of disgust. ôAs much as I canÆt stand your sonÆs attitudeàit would be weird without him around.ö

With reflexes well honed by her motherÆs Spartan training methods, Uzumaki Kizuna smoothly switched to a defensive stance the moment a person unexpectedly entered her field of view. The burden she was carrying was not as much of a detriment as it could beùher motherÆs style she had inherited relied more on kicks after all.

However, the person who appeared was not really an enemy.

ôHigashiyama Yurine.ö

ôHawa?ö The five-tails had every reason to be confused.

ôGood,ö Kizuna said as she approached the older woman. ôYou can take this burden off me.ö

ôAh! Yu-Yuria-chanàö

ôMind her left arm, itÆs broken,ö Kizuna warned while handing over the sleeping girl. ôYou might want someone to take a look at that. Aside from that sheÆs fine. SheÆs really like a monster.ö

ôAh-awa-awawaàö Yurine clumsily shifted her hold on her half-sister while Kizuna shifted her attention to the large shape of the Emissary less than a kilometer away.

ôYouàmake sure that girl fights that thing.ö

ôEhà?ö

ôShe needs it. Higashiyama Yuria is a person who grows stronger by leaps and bounds when she puts her life at stake,ö Kizuna explained, summarizing the lessons from history. Her history. ôShe needs every real fight she can get to figure out that ridiculously broken power of hers.ö

Kizuna pushed Yurine in the direction of the battle.

ôSo, get going! YouÆre needed there.ö

ôAwaàö

The blonde girl somehow interpreted YurineÆs sounds correctly.

ôAh, donÆt mind me, donÆt mind me. In fact I would be kind of grateful if you just forgot about me. So really, shoo, shoo! Get going! Atta girl!ö

ôAh, um.ö

YurineÆs first steps were hesitant, looking back at the nameless blonde girl as if wordlessly asking so many thing. Things, however, Kizuna found irrelevant, so she just urged the addled Yurine to keep going until she disappeared amidst the trees. Alone at last, Uzumaki NarutoÆs second daughter released a deep sigh.

ôHaaàguess IÆm done here. Gotta get back of Papaàö A sudden pause made her realized what she just said. ôWa-wait, wha-why am I ta-talking as if I were looking forward to it!? Ah-ah-Iùwho would want to stick around that idiot!? Stupid Father! ThatÆs what he is! Tsun!ö

As expected of the daughter of two tsundere, she is on a wholly different level. Not even needing another person to feel the urge to over-justify herself, what a high-level skill.

Oh, I see. We've established that the Emissary's vulnerable to blunt damage which obviously is Yuria's forte so this is an ideal opponent for her.

I figured Kizuna and 'Papa' would have disappeared by now.

The way Yuri was acting, she intends for Naruto to use her, at least that's how I understood it.

Future Naruto was the one who stopped the Alternative future foxgirls from making a big mess of his own timeline, he is currently in their own timeline, admonishing them on their behaviour, or just comforting all of them.

Hm, wondering if Naruto named his son by Yuria in any peculiar way, considering how he was calling her brother. It would be hillarious if they named him Ichigo.

Kizuna is adorable twin turbo tsundere.

You've got it wrong. They like the fictional girls who can't hurt them as tsundere.

That's..... Fuck that's about as as close to a bulls-eye description as I can think of. What's really upsetting about this is the tsundere archetype can pretty much be traced to a female author, since Rumiko Takahashi made her fortune developing the character trait before it took off to become the ever-present cliche it now is.

Its a manifestation of Takahashi's closeted homosexuality.

You can't expect much from someone who's famous for writing self inserts.

But I don't think Yuri would have summoned both Naruto's. The older Naruto would have cost more chakra and would destroy all sense of tension. Also, Yuri can only summon members of her clan. The limits of summoning contracts, and how to surpass those limits was explained much earlier.

There's no chance at all of the older Naruto being Summoned here, it would be a plot breaker as well as a tension breaker like you said Zeebee.

..hmm, yes, she can summon her clan, but as the contracted "Kitsune summoner (unrestricted)" I'm pretty sure Naruto as he is now would be pretty easily reverse summoned by any High enough chakra capacitied Kitsune who is actually AWARE of said contract, since while he still has a ridiculous chakra capacity for a human, he's no longer the bearer of (much/most/all) of Sayuri's chakra, so he's no longer outside the possibility of summoning via the in-word mechanics. I'm trying to remember if Naruto has summoned Yuri at any point, but i can't remember off the top of my head, because that would make it an automatic gimme for her reverse summoning him. Gah, Sarutobi's full exposition about summoning and WOTS just slipped out of my mind ><

I just want to know if Yuri's gonna be the weapon, or if Naruto will be the weapon henge'd

Actually, after thinking about it for a minute, I realized something that slipped my mind entirely. Yuri is no longer matriarch, thus she no longer is entitled by that to summon her clan. She can summon em as Mom and Grandma, but not as matriarch.

It shouldn't make much of a difference besides the fact that she probably can't summon Yurimi. Yuyuko and Yuria are probably off the list as well.

I agree with Yuyuko, but i think Yuria would still be viable as she's still her daughter, even if she's been removed from the clan.

If you're just talking descendants it doesn't make sense. It would mean she'd only have authority of her direct descendants. I'm pretty sure most of the village outside of her mountain answer to the matriarch, and Yurimi should have full access to all the summons.

Consequently that means that yuri should have been able to summon the kitsune that naruto killed as he was her nephew.

That makes sense, but now I'm confused about how she was able to summon Chiyuri since she's no longer Matriarch. Is there just various levels of summoning hierarchy within the individual clans or, more likely, the internal summoning capabilities of the youkai/youkai summonings are completely different to the human/youkai summoning contracts. In which case we actually know nothing at all about what the rules and restrictions for Yuri summoning.

It is most likely because she signed the summoning contract. Anko doesn't work for Orochimaru but she can still summon snakes. But when Orochimaru died she couldn't suddenly summon Manda. The contract is a physical thing.

Some things will be explained int he next snippet, but I'll add the things that won't be said in there.

As michirusan suggested, Naruto signed a "general Kitsune contract" created by Sayuri as is her privilege as a Kyuubi. Fubuki and Kougon have similar scrolls with them, and the three scrolls are in all ways identical in scope and effect. All names written in either of the scrolls could be said to belong to a common "Kitsune summoner" list, so it doesn't matter on which scroll a name is written on. Naruto can thus be summoned by any Kitsune with enough chakra who is aware of Naruto having signed the contract.

As for the Higashiyama Contract, it has already been transferred to Yurimi. It happened right after Yurimi was appointed Matriarch, and before future!Sayuri told them of the Spiral Children. The Higashiyama Contract allows those who signed it (the Matriarchs) to summon "any member of the Higashiyama Clan with a Crest other than the Crest of the Silver Lily". So, right now:

* Yuri, as a former Matriarch, can summon any of her "Crested" daughters and granddaughters except for Yurimi, who is the current Matriarch; Yuria, who is no longer "a member of the Higashiyama Clan"; and Sayuri, who has no Crest. She could, however, summon Yuyuko, but that fickle woman would definitely not respond to the summons.
* Even if she had enough chakra to do so, Yurimi cannot summon either Yuria or Sayuri, either. She could not summon Yuri, either, because that lazy woman has not taken a new Crest yet (the line in the Sayumayu site is an inconsequential spoiler).
* The First and Second Matriarchs are dead, so the only people with the Clan Contract are Yuri and Yurimi...

...and Reload!Naruto, but you really should not ask how that happened.

Since we touched the subject of Reload, I have a question: will you continue Reload Zero after writing Genkyouien?

So a kitsune can be summoned by the clan contract if they are 'crested'. I keep thinking that the crests were titiles, but considering that the family's contract can only be used to summon those with crests, is it possible there's more to them?
