Naruto x Rinoa (FF8) OR Jeane (SV)

I thought of this at 3 in the morning, so excuse me if my chain of thought is very fucked up, but I've read through some crossovers, but most of them are just, well... much too generic. So, I decided to post a challenge to all of you people on this glorious forum site to a challenge.

You may choose either Rinoa of Final Fantasy VIII OR Jeane of Suikoden. And it must involve Naruto getting together with them. It can be sappy, it can be a comedy, BUT, it cannot involve crack. The story has to make sense; intentional humor is a good way to go, but it has to not. involve. crack.

Since it's a crossover, I can leave the circumstances that allow them to meet up up to you.

The other requirements?

1. Between 3000 ~ 10000 words. I'll accept 2500 ~ 3000 words too, though.

2. Confrontation (Humorous or Serious, up to you) between Rinoa or Jeane with the other members of Team 7.

3. The last dialogue must have the character say "I love you".

Well, she could pass off as a Inazuka. Angelo as a nin-dog and all that.

Come to think of it, a lot of FF8's cast could pass off as ninja with a few tweaks.

Personally, I wanna see some quistis loving in a crossover. She's hotter than Rinoa, and tottally should have been a love option in FF8.

Well for either one it would be kind of impossible anyways.. I rather not think of Rinoa, but Jeane might be able to cross to another world/universe/reality/whatever if given enough time for all we know.

Finding a reason to STAY there for any amount of time might be the problem though if it's not some kind of fusion or that involves the True Runes of Suikoden fame.

As I said before, I don't think Jeane could be capable of falling in love with Naruto. Fond of most likely, but love? I don't think so from how I perceive her. In most cases, we barely know so little of her as she is pretty much fits into the role of 'The Mysterious Lady' so that anything that is done to her can likely be out of her character.

Heck, about every investigator sent to find out about Jeane either gets scared of her, can't remember what he was trying to find out or flat-out couldn't find anything.

Okay, that might actually give some leeway in some cases, but still....

Can't see her as a Tsundere. Yandere...hell no. She certainly has her head on straight, thus her acting like an airhead is out. A fine good tease and she knows it. Highly intelligent and capable in magical combat to boot. (she's not a Rune Sage for nothing after all)

Gah...she would most likely be, for most writers, a nightmare to do justice IMO that's for sure. Jeane fanboys would rip you into shreds if done possibly wrong.

If Jeane were to say it, it would likely be in a family way or in a teasing way, not lovers. Nearly impossible I'd say.

actualy, FF8 could mesh well with a few changes.

They are already magic using, summoning, teenage solders.

Just swamp Garden for Konoha (or other nations) academy, de age them a bit, or make them grads of an easlier class, replace drawn magic with chakra based attacks, and change the few weapons that won't work (such as gunblades).

of course, due to fangirl syndrome, all Final fantasy fics are yoai. That could be a problem.

Kind of another reason why I would think of staying away from Rinoa now.

She could be made into a trap by said fangirls. :sweat:

I do think that there could be something close to gunblades, but are then called something else in the Naruto-verse. I mean, remove the trigger and replace the chamber for something to hold seals to be activated by chakra in I suppose and that's possibly the closest thing you'll get.

Okay, even I think that's a stretch even if someone then makes it as if the seals to make such a weapon is difficult and thus only have a limited supply of them to make it a rare item to even know about them in some places and such. :sweat:

The biggest (and pretty much insurmontable without making her completely and utterly OOC) problem with Jeane is that she's a flirt and the game heavily implies she doesn't care about love or relationship. Even Sierra, who's an 800-year-old vampire, makes time for love in her 'life'. Jeane just doesn't, even if she teases, and she isn't even human to boot (she's a bodysnatcher, as Zerase implied, and scares the hell out of animals, especially dogs).

Rinoa may work, though. She's dumb enough to fall for Naruto. Hell, she's dumb enough to fall for SQUALL. And Seifer. <_<

Of course, then Naruto has to deal with a girl who, a few years later, turns into a psychowitch with a German accent and an obsession for 'Time Kompression'...

Jeane just doesn't, even if she teases, and she isn't even human to boot (she's a bodysnatcher, as Zerase implied, and scares the hell out of animals, especially dogs).

...I hate my selective at times. I need to recheck it to make sure it seems. (And hopefully give me back my muse to <s>torture</s> give Frey a load of women to <s>go after what's in his pants</s> becoming more intimate towards him.)

A Naruto/FF8 crossover is possible, I seen it happened. It's called Naruto: Dual Worlds. It's pretty decent, if the author stays away from the Yaoi, so it's not impossible, just needs some magic.

It wouldn't even be that hard...after all, they went through time compression, so there's the possibility (especially since Rinoa was involved) that something got fucked up on a cosmic level. Or even if it canonically didn't, you could probably fuck with it anyways. So, either Rinoa could...

1) Wind up in the Narutoverse by her lonesome...

2) Bring everyone that was in the party in the Narutoverse...

3) Have accidentally rewritten history so that the Narutoverse was what existed instead of their timeline, with only them remembering the original version, possibly with parallel versions of the same people they used to know...

4) Somehow have accidentally merged the two universes, ala DC/Marvel Amalgam Comics, with everyone being combinations of characters...possibly with all of them remaining seperate, or possibly with only Rinoa, due to her uber Sorceress power having remained unmerged (Zellruto Dinchtmaki? Tell me you don't see it. Seifsuke Uchiha? I rest my case...)

Just a few things that sprung to mind as possible ways to have a crossover between them.

I know zippo about Suikoden, so I can't really speculate. Though I suppose Immortal Naruto might have a chance with Jeanne, especially if he's actually older than her (Narutoverse is the ancient, distant past of the Suikodenverse?)...though, like I said, I know almost nada about it, except that I think she sells runes...hmm, I can kind of imagine Naruto setting up a shop next door or something...

Hmm, hmm. Maybe someone will find those ideas useful, at any rate.

Immortality is run-of-the-mill in Suikoden. All True Rune Bearers can technically live forever, and Viki's constant time-displacements allowed her to live through almost 200 years of historical events unchanged.

Hell, Viki is a walking paradox - she can exist at the same time and space coordinates as her younger version...

Anyway, yeah, Naruto being immortal would mean squat. There's a bunch of people who are in the hundred-years-old range, including Rune bearers, vampires and general oddities. Plus, Jeane herself has proved she can force True Runes to be transferred to people they haven't chosen, so if she was into shotacon, she'd have created her own immortal pet long ago.

To put it bluntly, Jeane and romance don't mix. Casual sex, maybe, but she's not the romance type. And at any rate, she's too busy keeping track of the True Runes to care. You'd have better luck hooking leknaat up with someone than hooking jeane up with someone, and Leknaat has about as much social life as a hikikomori.
