I'll give you some good helpful advice right now.
Don't watch it.
Seriously. The first one was rather annoying in terms of how it developed. While it appears the same in the beginning, they kind of convolt it with a rather retarded ending that only served to annoy me.
The second one was interesting in principle, but still can't hold a candle to the real deal. You're better off with just the manga for now.
I hear there's another one in the works that goes over the White Wings chapters, but I fear for what they do with it. <_<

I second Omega's advice. The Negima anime is possibly one of the worst manga-anime transitions ever.
Shitty doesn't begin to describe it. I'd rather watch Dragonball GT than the Negima anime, and I'd have to sit down and think if given a choice between it and the One Piece dub.
