There are Loads and Loads of Characters in Negima. As such, many characters are forgotten about, which is a big shame. Anyway, what characters do you want to see have more screentime, and why?

For my first character, I pick Satsuki Yotsuba. I just think she's a really nice character, whose inclusion is forgotten rather quickly. I mean, all she does is reassure Negi ONCE, and that's pretty much the end of her character development. Oh, she had some dealings with Chao, but other than that nothing important happened to her. We almost know even less about her than we did about Zazie before the girl's secret was revealed.

The problem is the closest she's ever had to having a negative is her aligning with Chao.

The problem is she's a chubby and chubbies get no love, especially in comics, unless their special power is tied into their fat and even then they're mostly only played for comedy relief.

Some of the characters just aren't that plot important. All you really need to know about her is that people universally like her, she talks in a cute way, and is an excellant cook who now runs chao bai zi.

There just isn't that much you can do with her.

Again, I will reiterate the point that, technically, Zazie was nothing but the odd, quiet girl who could talk to things that looked like No-Face from Spirited Away. It's only in the most recent chapters that we found out more about her.

Also, the lack of flaws is due to the lack of screen time. If she had gotten more character development, I think she would have been a good character. As it is, her personality is almost completely left up to the reader.

Anyhow, I have mentioned it in the Ideas thread, but I think Ayaka needs more screentime. Oh, so very much.

I liked Satsuki and I think it might have been nice if she had been a bit more important, but Akamatsu chose his favorites pretty early, I also think. That's why I thought that, in hindsight, the class of 2/3-A was probably too large.

Zazie still isn't that important though. All we know is shes from the demon tribe, and can use CE, as well as telepathically communicate with Poyo.

Satsuki is roughly in the same boat. she was just used to get Negi back on his feet, and get everyone food.

About the only use for her I can see is some sort of advice giver to the cast.

there's over 30 characters in Class 3A alone.

Hell Some manga have 30 characters for the whole thing.

Yes, and the fewer characters in 2/3-A, the fewer can be dragged to Mundus Magicus for the purpose of being... scenery filler, and requiring even more characters to be invented in order to give them something to be seen doing.
