Naruto Not Hokage ? But still a Kage ?

Basicly i was thinking that based on the last chapters of the manga the council is proven not to be too fond with Naruto and with Danzo and his actions it seems highly unlikely that they're influence is going to weaken. This sets the following premises:

Naruto sneaking to visit his obaa-san after his mission overhears a discusion between the council members that has as topic his own persona, he thus learns of his parentage and the fact that many in the council are not fond of his father and even less of him.

In a rare display of wisdom he realises that if Tsunade is going to back him up Konoha is going to be in a civil war and he doesn't enjoy the thought too much, faced with little choice and realising that if he remains blood shed is inevitable he decides to sacrifice for the good of the village once more this time willingly and leaves.

Realising that his choices in travel are limited he sets course for the Water country aware that sand would most likely reveal his location to the Leaf and Cloud and Stone will most likely go after his head on sight asociating him with the fourth.

Once he arrives in the land of the mist he faces a harsh reality: a country torn by civil wars with bandits and missing nins at every step and with a very week hidden village. Taking the situation to hearth he decides to change it and thus begins a new road for him.

Heh, something similar happens in my fic. Essentially, Naruto is later talked into shooting for the Onikage position. :p Jiraiya and Tsunade even encourage him to try this road.

Nice idea, anyway. :sisi:

Hmm, I like this, I really like this, this is just the kind of original idea that Naruto fiction needs these days, I've only ever seen something like this once before and that had Naruto taking over Sound Village after killing Orochimaru and that is one of my favorite fics, so if someone does this you can be sure that I will definitely be reading it.

Your idea sounds interesting, but it needs a bit more than just that, though I guess you know that already :D

The reasoning for such a thing happening (Naruto leaving the village and the civil war stuff) is quite reasonable.

Hmm...that needs a tiny bit more working. The 'rare display of widsom' needs either background of occasional smart decisions or Kyubi saying something. It'd be way too sudden if he is a baka (which he mostly is in the manga) but suddenly shows a mature wisdom...

Well this is the first fic on my list now since there are many people interested in it, i have just a few more exams and i'm home free for a few weeks so i should have time enough to write...

As for the plot bunny (aka Naruto's moment of wisdom) i have in mind a few ideeas, doing it all of a sudden would make no sense ne?

Curently organizing data on the Mist. :)

Like others've said, this is an interesting idea (bonus points; kinda, for sticking with the manga this far. I haven't been able to stomache the crap Kishimoto claims is plot for ages now) Much as I'd like for Naruto to actually show some growth in intelligence and power (and I don't mean using more Kyuubi tails, I mean his own unaided power) from his three years away, suddenly changing whats been shown in the manga right away would be too much of a jump. Though if you could gradually shift him to changing how he should have from that much time and personal training I'd love it!

Now, would he just be up and leaving after this overheard conversation, or would he actually take a day or so to mull over his options and the revelations (somewhat outta character. I mean after Mizuki spilled the beans at the start he spent zero time thinking about it). Is he going to leave some sort of note for Tsunade, Jiraiya etc? And if he leaves a note will they immediately try to get him back before the Council pounces on this chance to have him executed or will they accept his sacrifice and try to cover as long as they can?

All that said, why the hell don't we have a first chapter yet? :D
