What if little Denzel grew up trying to get stronger to protect Tifa?

He's around... 10-ish now, so I'm setting the fic in 8 years... when a new evil walks the land. Perish the thought! Just kidding; he just grows up and becomes... well... let's say, the complete opposite o' good ol' Cloud.

Who gets married.

To a nice quiet girl. Not Tifa. Dunno who, but I imagine a nice quiet younger woman. No Yuffie.

And then Denzel shows up after 8 years... as an employee of Shinra.

And he's not a kid anymore.

"You've grown up, Denzel." Tifa smiled, leaning over the counter. "I remember when you barely came up to my waist."

He gave a smile in return as the woman, still beautiful as he remembered, rounded around the bar and came up to him, barely a foot away from the warmth of his form. With a wink, she reached upwards with a hand.

"Now you're a good half a foot taller; look at you." she giggled behind a good-natured smile.

"Yeah, I've grown." voice deep, eyes shining. "And you've stayed the same."

He kissed her.

And nothing would ever be the same again.

Denzel returns after eight years and Tifa jumps instantly into bed with him?

I'm sorry, but that just screams FAIL imo. You need a lot more character development to make that believable.

Except you're writing a PWP, then it's fine

No... as in, he comes back, and things just develop from there. I don't know... maybe, he just tries to help out around the bar for a while (dealing with his crush during the period).

I don't do PWP.

It's not instant romance. And that scene in the quote before... I think that's gonna be from a part they're looking back on old times.

And you didn't give me any ideas. I need some suggestions... or something.

You need to actually write something instead of posting a large amount of prompts for various fandoms and expecting other people to practically write them for you. If that's what you're looking for, specify that it's an open idea instead of making it out as if you're going to write it yourself.

If you are going to write it yourself, then write it. Don't berate other people for finding your idea uninteresting with what little you've put on the table.

I already have an idea. Denzel comes back after going overseas for... education, and is hired back as a Shinra employee, all the while staying with Tifa just because he has no place stay.

He helps her run the bar (since Cloud's gone off and gotten married), and as they stay together, things just grown between them. But it IS taken into condieration that Denzel is MUCH younger than Tifa, and all she feels is... sisterly affection.

SHUTdooown.

He doesn't persist in a relationship, but... well, if you don't get any for some time, you're bound to explode, right? And I really don't think Tifa would be sleeing with anyone. Denzel... I characterized him as the boyscout. The "help old ladies cross the street" and "get cats out of trees".

So, an employee of Shinra and living with Tifa. THIS is going to be the setting, How I need to know is HOW things develop. I know they ARE going to develop and I have an ending, but I need a middle. Or something between chapters 22 and 1.
