Akamatsuverse Pactio: Will anyone else get one?

I'm curious to see who else from Negi's class you guys believe will make a Pactio with Negi? (Manga only please)

My personal opinion is one, at most two, more characters will get a Pactio card. The seven Negi has now is really pushing Akamatsu's abilities as it is, so I doubt there will be many more. I'm leaning toward Ku Fei and/or Kaede as future partners. My first reason is that they are already heavily involved in Negi's life as a wizard, and it would seem to be a natural follow-through. My second reason is that Negi's Pactio partners are lacking in offensive ability; there are four support/information/healing types, two attackers (not counting Negi), and one flexible type (who can be either attack or support). While Ku and Kaede make up for that, having a Pactio with them would boost their offensive ability significantly.

I just feel that having more than 8 or 9 partners would just end up bogging down the story and making it rather unwieldy and clumsy. Just look at the mess of the School Festival! While he managed to pull it off, I felt like I had ADD with the way things jumped around I just think we probably won't see many more Pactios in the future.

Hm it's a sound theory though I can;t shake the feeling that Makie will eventually get one. She and Ayaka are two that are outside the bubble of magic knowledge yet still get more screen time. Seeing as Makie is in magic country and she's finally getting exposed I sort of see her finally getting one.

Ayaka is a little less likely but she seems somewhat content with her role in the dark as long as Negi still values her help (she would obviously like to be brought into the loop but is the only one of the maddness that seems to know when it;s safer to back down and trust the others. Possible but unlikely in the end.

The only other one (outside Ku Fei and Kaede) I can see possibly is Ako... it really all depends where this 'her in love with Nagi" plot goes. she could either be left devistated and come to terms falling into the sidelines again or fullfill the recurring them of wanting to be a 'main character' and step up and take a position after the confusion is settled.

Since I don't read scanlations, I'm not sure about Makie. She seemed to slip back into background after volume 7 and Negi's 'test' to show Eva that his martial arts training is something that will help him. Though she did take up a lot of 'screen-time' before that, to the point that Akamatsu was a little bemused by how 'pushy' she was :lol: . Does she step back up into the lime-light after the Festival arc?

Yeah, I agree with you here. I'm getting the impression that Ayaka will be a support type that's not completely in the loop i.e. Negi and co. need help getting somewhere or need something expensive, quick. Ayaka will over-hear or otherwise find out and offer her assistance without pressing for too many details. Not really a bankrolling character so much as a..supplier maybe? Something like that anyway.

I'm not sure about Ako, mainly due to Negi having plenty of support-type Pactios. I just can't imagine Ako as an attacker-type. I am curious as to what will happen with the whole Nagi(Negi)-thing...it was shown to be too sincere on her part to be played for laughs later, so I'm leaning toward eventual heartache for her. Hopefully something will come up that will offset that whole issue, since I'm rather fond of her

Well I DO read the scanlations so I suppos minor spoilers.

1. Makie doesn't exactly 'step into the limlight' yet but she did manage to hitch along with the main group by accident and is not in magic country (the next major arc in the story). They are all stranded and working the get back together after getting seperated. she is working to meet up with negi, currently alongside yuna. The fact that she made it gives chance that she might end up with a pactio

2. As for ako it's not a matter of 'what kind of minstra is needed' its more along the line of how she could potentially take the finding out that Nagi is negi. no doubt she's going to be quite depressed but I get the feeling that she might step forward just due to character development and all the talk of 'stepping up to be a main character'. Just seems fitting. though there is an equal chance of her not getting invovled after the reveal. All depends on which way it goes.
