Persona 4 Inverted

EDIT: Image shrunk and linked to to the fullsize version due to it breaking word wrap.

Yes. This image is fucking epicly awesome.

It demands fic.

So, let's come up with the idea for the image.

First; obviously, this is a shadow version of the cast, denoted by the yellow eyes of everyone but Souji and Adachi(since the bastard is looking the other way).

But, really, what would a shadow version of everyone mean? That they are more repressed than canon? It bears discussion.

Also, something of great signifigance is everyone's position. Souji is the leader here, still. And he's putting off major Evil Overlord vibes. Perhaps instead of saving humanity, this crew wants to conquer humanity's collective subconscious.

So, yes, this idea could be very potentially epic.

EDIT: And I am getting major yaoi vibes from Teddie here.

Okay, this could have potential.

And just for the record, I don't believe Teddie understands (or even knows about) the whole hetero/homo argument. Remember the Ohsama game?

Shadow versions, hmm... perhaps, rather than accepting their shadows are a part of them, they believe that they're most of them? That that really is the way they think, and the other was all a lie?

The question is whether Souji goes with the original plan or decides he'd rather rule over humans than Shadows...

I could agree with that. Unlike most, I'm not vehemently anti-yaoi, Ijust like to poke fun at it. So Teddie crushing/lusting on Souji is perfectly fine to me because it is justifiable.

Hmm. That is a good idea there, but they obviously follow Souji in the pic which seems counter to the universally selfish mindset of the shadows. Why?

Standard harem answer; why choose one when you can have both? ^_^

Questions:

What would Izanami do/say in this version? Would Souji not want to share with izanami?

What about Social Links; how would those be twisted around?

Would anyone else die?

What about Nanako, would Souji twist her too?

It seems to me that Namatame would make a perfect scapegoat here. What happens to Adachi? Join the crew as a semi-loyal buttmonkey, or is he still an enemy?

Also, something occurred to me.

By the way Souji is sitting and his posture, I am strongly reminded of Light Yagami.

Because they can't take over the world by themselves. And he can kick all their asses, given the choice.

And by asking humans or shadows, I was more asking whether the fog would roll out and swallow everything up or not...

Perhaps, Souji comes to believe that in order to save humanity from its own desire, he has to force it to see the truth. Ala Anakin Skywalker. Starting that would be trick though. If they can use their Personae (or the Shadows' equivalent) outside of the TV, then it's possible to do some interesting things, but I don't really know where they'd begin.

I'm not too sure 'villain by necessity' would work here.

Because we already know it's not necessary for him to succeed.

But does HE know that? Of course not. One event could easily change his view on things and influence him toward the Evil Path.

Hrmm.

Such an event would be best suited to the awakening of his powers, when he enters the fog realm to face Izanagi at the beginning. It could go differently, leading him to the conclusion that the subjugation of the human subconscious will happen, it's just a question of who does it.
