Akamatsuverse Physical Strength

We know that Negi and the rest are pretty darn strong, from what we've seen in the manga so far. However, I was rereading the vol just before the Negi/Rakan battle, the training scenes, and they showed Negi doing push ups with a large boulder on his back. From the size of it, I believe it weights at least a few tons, but I'm not really sure how many.

So my question is, how strong 'is' Negi? In terms of physical strength.

What about the others? How strong are they?

It should be noted that Negi uses magic for his punches, so physical strength might not be the right word.

Like zeebee said, Negi is empowering himself pretty much all the time so its hard to say. His training might well serve the dual purpose of training his actually physical strength as well as his magical capacity to keep his magical power-up up for longer.

We have no feat flat-out mentioned to be completely un-magical for Negi, at least none I can remember...

Okay, so 'magically enhanced physical strength' would be better?

I'm speaking of his ability to lift objects, not the force of his blows. I'm also not counting his strength while using Dark Magic.

The reason I'm not taking into account the force of his punches and kicks, is because there's a chance that, even when not using a specific spell, the magic increases the effects of the blows. So, they aren't the best evidence.

Volume two Negi was compared to pit mechanic speed wise, his body compensating being ten years old with magic.

It's implied throughout out the manga that this is something all magi do to some degree.

Mei who is most likely a traditional mage was shown jumping on roofs with Takane when they were acting as Hero Units during the Mahorafest.(Volume 16)

So what Negi was probably training up would be the base amount of magic his body uses so when it's enhanced by those spells like Magic Erabia/Cantus Bellax it would get more benefit.

So I'm guessing Negi is able to lift that boulder and half that with his arms.

Considering Negi did like 50K pushups with it, he should be able to lift that. Also when Negi and Kotaro bump fists they create sonic shock waves, so take that as you will.

Yes, but how much do you think the boulder weighs?

Without knowing what rock the weight was made out of, the weight is unguessable, and could be in a huge range. But it was pretty impressively large; I would guess it weighed several tons at minimum, assuming it was made of granite or another very dense stone.
