I've not heard if the PS 4 is compatible or not, but I would assume it. Perhaps someone who owns one can weigh in on that.

At any rate the PS3 along with a few Visio televisions now support 3D streaming with Netflix. This comes along with the 'Super HD' support for their streaming services.

It may not be available everywhere, and it also requires at least a 6mb connection. 12 mb for the highest quality possible. It started within the last month where I live, but I do believe it was available in limited markets previously.

There isn't much there yet of course. A few documentary films and cheap knock off 3D animation films mostly.

Still it's nice to know for anyone who has a 3D screen and a PS3. You can be sure that more mainstream 3D films will be showing up as the service matures over time.

Spent a few hours today watching some 3D Imax films and they looked great. Little more than demo films are available, but the streaming service does an admirable job of providing the content if you've got the hardware and bandwidth to handle it.

Anyway, it's pretty cool to have another option beyond YT3D for streaming 3D videos if you've got the tech to support it.

That's not a surprise as Sony did advertise PS3 compatibility with 3DTV technology when they were starting to push those sets. It's probably that Netflix coded the stream to be compatible with 3DTV sets, and the PS3 just so happened to also support that code.

Given that Sony may still be pushing for 3DTV sets, I'd say it would be a safe bet that the PS4 could support 3D Netflix streams.

Wasn't there an article that the ps4 would NOT support 3D TV anymore. I'm not sure if its true or not since they might still add it in later on.

From what I read it will support Blu-Ray 3D...but not at launch. It's got the hardware it would need, but will need a patch to support Blu-Ray 3D that will probably be released at an as yet unnamed date.

Though, it -does- support 3D gameplay for games...but there are no games for it that will run in 3D yet.

So, I'm not sure whether Netflix will work or not. I'd think so since the games can run in 3D that the Playstation Netflix app will also be able to do so. Unless it's a blocked feature for some reason there shouldn't be any reason why not.

I have to admit, a lack of Blu-ray 3D support does seem a bit odd. Though, again, it seems like the PS4 will support Blu-ray 3D at a later date and will simply need a software patch to do so.

That also means that the PS 3 is still the best Blu-ray player on the market right now.
