Ukyo in that bottom image due to way dressed looks a lot like one of the characters in a little known series called Samurai Bride... in that, the girl was a lesbian, but a very powerful ki user...

As for the pic with Kodachi having a DS, I see nothing wrong with that. Nothing in the Ranma plot points to a specific year. Not that I recall anyway. Good pic also, well drawn and colored.

Takahashi-sensei didn't mention a year, as far as I know, but Nabiki's computer puts the series very clearly in the early 90s.

I think one of the calendars shown in one scene somewhere also showed early 90's

Which, as observed, is when the series was being written: from 1987 to early 1996. Obviously, Takahashi couldn't predict the future to know what technology would be available or what it would look like years after she'd moved on from writing the series. But computers and a calendar aren't plot -- they're extremely minor background details. Nothing in the actual story of Ranma prevents it from being moved forward in time. Nor that I can think of anyway. This probably seems like semantics, but I don't think it is.

Even if you disagree, it's still a nice pic, well-drawn and nicely colored.

The date it occurs is not really overly important to me in most cases, only from the standpoint an author should not mix time periods... like deliberately place a story in original time but have modern cell, etc...

Nor was I insulting the pictures, since I had already commented on the Ukyo one.
