d100 system (based on Marvel-TSR x d20)
1-5 crit fail
6-50 fail
51-80 succeed
81-95 succeed+ (yellow feat)
96-100 crit succeed

roll + attribute value - difficulty = chart value

attributes
just use standard marvel charting, although that might have to be reworked.
So now, someone with ex17 and someone with ex20 actually do have different chances to succeed. Only 3%, but it makes a difference for character progression, besides health and karma.

d10 system
skills versus talent
skills are cheaper to acquire than talents
skills add another die to the pool
talents add a +1 to all dice using that talent.

So someone with an untrained talent still only has one die, but has a bonus to that die. They can make a 7 easier, but they can't make 3 successes very easily still. Someone with a lot of skill has more opportunities for success, but their chance per success doesn't change. Someone with both talent and skill has their chances for success dramatically increase.

This wouldn't work very well with how the current WoD system is, unless you used the current "skills" as talent modifiers, and the attributes as skill.
i.e. a dex of 4 would net you 4 dice, but a driving of 2 would net you +2 to all dice when checking against driving.

Sorry, random thoughts when trying to go back to sleep at 0330, and I just had to share them.

I have no idea what's happening here. Probably cause I don't know anything about this marvel rolling system. o_o

Down at the bottom is a d10 idea for World of Darkness style games (or d6 for shadowrun, etc), that use dice pools.

http://www.classicmarvel.com/house_rules/benchmarks.htm
gives you a generic concept of Marvel's system, and includes the (modified for house rules) universal chart.

http://www.classicmarvel.com/other_stuff/universal.htm here is the actual universal table.

Marvel uses FASERIP for their attributes.
Fighting
Agility
Strength
Endurance

Reason
Intuition
Psyche

Most of the other stuff is involved in "column shifts" of the universal table. The universal table is useful, but imo, sucks balls. Much like the d20 system.
