And here we have the Prologue for my LH/WH40k fic inspired by Antimatter's suggestion, Ronins Imperialis. I want to finish up the prologue first and get it posted to FF.net so that I have an actual obligation to do more work on it. Here's what I've written so far - enjoy.

Prologue
Professor Ignatius Mobius was quite pleased.
His team was proving themselves quite adept at their duties. The spirits of their equipment had deigned to accept their offerings and function properly. The guards were staying out of the way and actually guarding rather than making trouble. The Project was ahead of schedule.
The Emperor had commended his progress.
Yes, Professor Mobius was quite proud. So much so, that he had readily agreed to the Emperor's suggestion - not that he'd have ever rejected His Lordship's advice - that the staff be given a day of rest. The hardest part was behind them. Now only the tedious part remained.
The waiting.
Mobius sighed as he settled into his desk chair in his office, browsing through a file on The Project that was written upon simple plain white sheets of paper. He could've used one of those data storing machines, but he'd decided to leave the day-to-day use of those to the younger staff. The more energetic, the more devout in their worship of the Machine Spirits, the more knowledgable than he - almost - in lost technologies from before the Age of Strife. The newer generation.
Emperor bless them.
Glancing at a chronometer on the wall, Mobius noted the time. 1100 Luna Standard. Still relatively early. Mobius stretched out, yawning. Well, he wasn't needed for anything right then, so he might as well make intelligent use of his day of rest - that is, actually resting.
Extinguishing the light torch in his quarters, Mobius floated over to his bed, which lay attatched upright to the wall. Sleeping was different in zero-gravity after all. Strapping himself in, Mobius lay there for a moment, pondering for a moment the glory the Primarch Project would bring to the Emperor of Mankind and his place in it all, before finally closing his eyes and fading off to sleep.
