Akamatsuverse Roomates

A certain AU concept came to me recently, and I suddenly realized I wasn't fully aware of just who is rooming with who. I know Konoka and Asuna share a room, as do the library trio and Natsumi and Chizuru with the Class Rep (May be recalling the names wrong, but since the wolf kid was in there you should know who I'm talking about), Kaede was with the... twins I think, and Makie is rooming with Ako.

However this leaves quite a few blank spots, such as who Setsuna is rooming with and so forth. Anyone else recall the arrangements people have at the school? Preferably manga wise, as I'm pretty sure the anime screwed a few of them up in both versions.

IIRC Setsuna with Mana, though both rarely in they room - Mana in shrine, Setsuna stalking Konoka. There is no other confirmed placements. Chisame is highly possible along in two-person room.

It was implied Haruna and Nodoka room together as well in the early chapters when the girls were competing to see who Negi rooms with.

Haruna and Nodoka are 'part' of the Library Trio. Along with Yue.

You have to be careful with Negima and dorm rooms as far as location and who is with who... they were a bit inconsistent, especially in the two anime continuities, which does not exactly match the manga continuities. I started a discussion on it some time back.

Yeah. The Library Trio consistently rooms up with each other and Asuna, Negi and Konoka live together. I'm pretty sure that the cheerleaders are also in one room, and that Chisame and Satsuki have single rooms. Setsuna and Mana live together, although I can't remember where I got that from. Yuuna does not have an apartment on campus because her father's a professor and they have an actual house nearby. I seem to vaguely recall something about Chao and Ku Fei sharing a room, but I can't remember where I got that from. Chachamaru lives with Eva in her cabin. I know the twins are together, but I'm not sure if Kaede was with them as well. I'm also pretty sure that Zazie has her own sleeping arrangements; she doesn't really ever show up in any dorm scenes at any rate, and even if she did she'd still have a single room by virtue of nobody really 'knowing' her.

IIRC actually Yuna live in Mahora dorms, but visits her dad from time to time.

Hmmm... 2nd anime has it different... From my earlier thread:

- Kuu Fei and Haruna Saotome's room is 572. Portal to Yue and Nodoka's room (sometimes)
- Negi, Asuna, and Konoka is room 643. Portal to Yue and Nodoka's room (sometimes)
- Chao Lingshen and Yotsuba Satsuki's room? Room is 662.
- Yui and Nodoka are in Room 573.
- Chizuru and Natsumi (on the nonexistant 7th floor)(I'll note Ayaka is not listed is having this room)
- Yuua and Ako
- Setsuna and Kaede are across hall from Negi
- Sasaki Maki and Yukihiro Ayaka
- Akira and Misora (and fish called Yamamoto-san)
- Fumika and Fuuka
- Zazie and Mana

Also... the three cheerleaders are together, and Eva/Chachamaru share the cabin, as you mention is the same in manga. So... that is some 27 of the 31 students and Negi. Unsure about the other 4.

Oh... and I'm pretty sure I messed up in that Yuua s/b Yuuna (there is no Yuua).

Okay, ignoring the anime which apparently screwed up Ayaka's placement so it's already on shaky grounds, there's no confirmation whatsoever where Setsuna and Mana are staying, correct? Had a concept where they stay at Mana's shrine place or something similar, but wasn't sure. Would make sense, given how the two are apparently meant to work together a lot for specialized jobs and whatnot.

Of course trying to map out this idea... I suddenly came to the realization that I like WAY too many of these characters. Cursed awesome character concepts...

I suspect that Akamatsu left the sleeping arrangements of most students vague on purpose so as to be able to introduce stuff later without needing to contradict himself. At any rate, the anime (especially the second one) is totally inconsistent about the whole thing. I believe Setsuna and Mana have an apartment in the dorms (also makes sense with Setuna's whole 'must stay close to Konoka' thing), but since there's no confirmation either way that I know of, it's basically your call. Until there's official word, whatever the author wants goes. ^_^
