Evangelion Save the Earth!

If any of you pay attention to videogames, they may have an idea of what this is about already. Hint: there's a Godzilla game for PS2 with this title.

However, this idea, ironically enough, has no Godzilla. Just a horrible bout of bad luck on behalf of the Angels - and arguably, of the Earthlings as well.

It all started with Sachiel. Shinji gets to Tokyo-3, Gendo is an ass, he agrees to pilot the EVA, yadda yadda.

However, before he can launch, a giant pteranodon comes out of nowhere - and attacks the Angel!

Yes, Sachiel had the bad luck of running right into Rodan. :snigger: Predictably enough, the messy battle that follows levels most of Tokyo-3 - at least what wasn't protected at the time. Not even Gendo is insane enough to deploy Unit-01 with a bona fide kaijuu around - he's seen enough monster movies to know that whoever gets between a kaijuu and his target usually ends up badly.

Later on, it's Shamshel's turn - and this time, Gigan just happened to be in the area.

And it keeps happening! Before NERV can do anything, some giant monster shows up and does the job for them.

No idea where this could go, but I do like the idea of Gendo frothing at the mouth as the giant beasts scrap his precious Instrumentality scenario... :snigger:

Chances are that NERV is getting laid off since they aren't needed. Hopefully they wouldn't become the 'enemy' like in the movie. Maybe Gendo would find something else to do with the Evas in the mean time. I'm sure they could be useful for something else, like construction or demolition. It would be kinda funny if they get used for clean up after the battles.

Knowing "El Bastardus Maximus", he'd probably initiate 3rd Impact the moment he got his grubby hands on Adam in this scenario.

Hey, nothing says 'Homeland Security' better than having the JXSDF or G-Force back in action to face the Angels.

If you take into account the Trident project in 'Girlfriend of Steel', the japanese government doesn't much like NERV and would try to get insurance against the EVAs.

MASER tanks!
Jet Jaguar!
Kiryu (aka MechaGodzilla)!
Moguera!
The Atoragon/Gotengo and all the big honking war machines they kept building to fight Godzilla!

You know, that's an idea. Have the JSDF poach Shinji from NERV before his father summons him and beat the Wimpiness out of him with Boot Camp. Then they put him inside a giant war machine and let him do the rest.

GH, stop smocking craqck will you.
You like it, admit it. My ideas are the finest crack.

Besides, it'd be fun to see all the bad guy monsters be the unintentional GOOD guys. :snigger:

The first thing I saw when I saw this topic title was...
Save the Earth... eat an Angel
and
Save the Earth... eat an Eva

Which is a bastardization of Save a Tree, eat a Koala

NINJA EDIT

This actually brings up some really scary mental images as after I hit submit my brain kekekeke's and goes "Save the Earth... Eat Gendo" :headbanger: :headbanger:.

Although the mental image of Shinji going out armed only with chopsticks and trying to eat the angels is rather funny.

I have a feeling not much of the world would be left if the fight with the Nine Dummies went this way too. One at a time is plenty, but kaiju en masse against nine regenerators? The Evas would be getting their asses kicked in circles around the earth, only surviving due to the h4x regeneration.

Re-reading this title, and forgetting what it was about, well, I thought it was the hippi version of NERV, or at least some of the characters.

Anyway, giant monsters from Godzilla movies fighting angels, sounds fun. Not so much crack as odd, but okay.

It would help if I actually saw the movies.

Seriously, you'd have to have a scene with Shinji, Hikari, Toji, and Kensuke waving and shouting goodbyes to Gamera as he left at the end of the series, the Self Defense Forces and Seele defeated in his wake. "We love you, Gamera!" Hikari shouted, waving frantically towards the mutant creature.

Asuka could only stare in response, wondering what it was about the locals and supporting intergalactic monsters...

That'd be an amusing ending.

However, I was thinking more along the lines of the usual villains in kaijuu movies being the involuntary 'heroes'. Just because it'd be kinda amusing to see King Ghidorah be the unlikely good guy for once.

You could even take this idea in the direction of "The Tick", or "Super Robot Wars".

So, which archetypal mech and pilot will show up just in the nick of time to stop the Angel today?

After watching Godzilla: Final Wars, I just HAD to revive this. The idea is very tempting... :snigger:

Since you're reviving your own topic, I'd like to point out that many of the kaiju you listed would get ownd by an Angel. It's surprising how many kaiju there are that are actually rather weak. Granted, you probably have enough powerful kaiju to defeat all the Angels that come knocking, I'm just pointing out that not every kaiju on the list would be able to stand up to one.

Unless, of course, you beat some of the Angels with the nerfbat for crack purposes. After all, it has to be humilating to be defeated/outperformed by the 'weakest' giant monster.

Bonus points if the lack of combat and mind fuckage from Gendo (who's rather tied up at the moment) allows Shinji to actually grow some.

This, or something like this, should show up at some point.

Why? Just because.

Does that mean that for... let's say... Zeruel, we would have to pull out a shrinkified Galactus, like in the Marvel: Ultimate Alliance video game? :hmm:
